RESIDENT ROCK PROFESSOR
I’ve had to teach one sing and it was pretty hard . So he’s just taking the recordings ?
I never heard of him besides seeing the Ibanez sig model until this thread. I watched the YouTube mimed video and the live. Is there a live video where he plays the same tune and to the same speed as the mimed videos because he clearly plays different on the posted live videos in this thread?
Yeah nah bro'.But he is human and he plays better than anyone else alive today...
The audio is not synced but not the guitarist he claims to be if you have ears. None of the live videos posted in this thread are helping his case.
Dude plays live..... On stage in front of real people.... That shit ain't fake yo
ThisI don't like it but almost everyone is miming online. He at least came up with the stuff which is impressive but that is going out the window with AI. Its also true that the other dude is monetizing controversy. Just a lot of garbage that is going to keep on getting worse.
I like small real channels but yt kinda rewards people that play the game. sucks man
honestly I thought that too for a second.. nope but it sounds like oneWTF? This isn’t one of those overdub parodies?
I get and I get the controversy.....The thing you seem to not want to accept is like Dan said, there is a huge, almost light years difference in the skill level between his live playing vs his Instagram videos.
Im not going to watch that 1 hour long video but out of any video you posted apart from maybe one of them, the playing was extremely basic, if you're putting him on the virtuoso level. It's kind of clear as day.
This
Idk in their heyday...... One could argue that possibly.......Yeah nah bro'.
He's definitely in the top 1% if you take all guitarists including unknowns and bedroom hobbyists into account, of that I have no doubt.
Best in the world 'though? Not by a long shot. Holdsworth, Benson, Howe, Gilbert and Vai shit all over him for starters. One could prolly compile a list of dozens if not hundreds quite-easily.
The video was simply out-of-sync with the audio.WTF? This isn’t one of those overdub parodies?
But damn. That isn’t the best player in the world like the kid believes. Sync or no sync. The video was simply out-of-sync with the audio.
Nothing nefarious going on there, to be fair.
I have not found a single video where he plays one of those super technically demanding songs all the way through - just him playing bits and pieces and generally butchering them, like the podcast interview posted a while ago.I never heard of him besides seeing the Ibanez sig model until this thread. Like not even close. It was actually comical.I have not found a single video where he plays one of those super technically demanding songs all the way through - just him playing bits and pieces and generally butchering them, like the podcast interview posted a while ago.
That's part of the reason this feels so obvious - the only tunes he does live are the super calm finger picking/travis picking stuff with very normal/stock rhythmic patterns and basic bitch emo chords - the world shattering crazy Instagram videos are either conveniently ignored or absolutely butchered beyond recognition, without fail, every single time
The point wasn't precisely that he's just out of sync miming in that video, it's that in every single one of his actual live performances he doesnt get anywhere NEAR that level of technicality and cleanliness technique wise
Well.......I have not found a single video where he plays one of those super technically demanding songs all the way through - just him playing bits and pieces and generally butchering them, like the podcast interview posted a while ago.

Well.......
Light is faster than sound.......
And this is elementary![]()
The Kid has been fingering him arsehole to Ichika for several years late at night. He is way too invested. He can’t let this dream die. We should have some more compassion.Bro i i'm confused, I don't even know what you're trying to say by this - light being faster than sound has nothing to do with him not being able to play any of the crazy stuff he "performs" in his IG videos![]()

I honesty don’t know. He is seriously invested in this guy for whatever reason. He will not see it.Well I mean obviously he's a ....fan... but like, what does light being faster than sound have to do with dude not being able to play his tunes?
I honestly do not understand how this is an argument
Anyone can watch that podcast video or some of the live videos and compare it to the insane staccato and perfect compression and touch of the IG videos and see the forest for the trees, no? I'm just confused

It’s reminding of when my 71 year old dad shows me something he found on the internet. Like, some people are not seeing what’s going on. How old is the kid?I can't believe i'm saying this, but I feel like i actually need to break down the technical aspects of the difference between his playing "live" and his playing live to explain why this is so obvious
Like, apparently people are confused about what is meant by "there are levels to this"
Can he play at all? Sure. I don't think there's any question that he is a complete novice or something.
The problem is that unless the dude has been completely fucking shitfaced for every single actual live performance he has ever done, his skill level at guitar is wildly inappropriate/discordant compared to what he's gotten famous for - these monster instagram videos where he drops full romeo four finger tapping arpeggios with pops and slaps and midwest emo chords at 200bpm..... WITH A CLEAN TONE.
Then he goes on a podcast, that namm video, etc, and plays intermediate level fingerpicking (with shaky tapping technique and extremely poor touch control) and the math ain't motherfucking mathin', man.
