A friend of mine's daughter was in a car accident and the insurance company denied her getting an MRI and Catscan in the ER saying she didn't need it. Don't ask me how they could deny it in real time against the ER doctors recommendations but I guess it happened. So 6 months later they found that she ruptured C4 and C5 discs and that fluid is migrating into her spinal cord causing issues. I would like note she works for the county with what is considered one of the best health care plans in the state.

It shows that hospitals are working directly for the Insuranace companies...if this story is true.

JP is normally a good honest guy.

Hope she sues their ass off
She now has to prove the damage occurred during the accident, so they have put the burden on her. Her local doctors told her they didn't know what to do to help her so she had to find a neurologist up in Chicago that was willing to see her to try to help her. She's not sure her insurance company will pay this new specialist's bill even. It's quite the shitshow.

I also seen alot a bullshit with my mothers healthcare the last 2-3 years before she passed, it was a constant struggle to get her admitted to the hospital. A friend of mine who is a pharmacist(who also has elderly parents) and knows quite a few doctors told me the following.... the hospitals do not want to admit seniors with multiple ailments( and most do) because medicare only pays for one ailment at a time so if they treat them for multiple preexisting conditions during the hospital stay the hospital does not get paid for everything they treated during the hospital stay so the answer is to try not to admit elderly people and push everything to outpatient care. Medicare is practicing death panels through the hospital administrators protocols, the doctors and nurse have no power and no say if they want to keep their jobs even if the doctor is empathetic and cares about the patients. Alot of people I know with elderly parents are being treated the same as I was and it's pretty despicable.

Seems the new motto is "Hurry Up and Die, you're getting expensive"

Maybe if she went several days later but not immediately after an auto collision. When you check in with an ER, you sign promise to pay (whether insurance pays or not) and consent to treat. Then you get treated. Nurses spend zero time calling insurance companies for a pre-auth in the ER. Hospitals treat emergent patients and work out the payment later. In addition your own insurance company covers your bills and then works it out with the other parties insurance. That’s the law on most states.

That's how it worked 13 years ago for me when I was hit head on by a semi truck that blew a stop sign but Obamacare was not fully enacted yet and it seems things are definitely changing for the worse presently if you are the patient and especially if you are elderly.

I don't support murdering a CEO. Unfortunately these guys make decisions that cost thousands of lives for the sake of profit, by denying life saving health care. The rage against them is unfortunate but inevitable.

Luigi murdered with a gun
A health insurance CEO murders with a denial letter.
Only one of them gets paid to do it.

And in my opinion absolutely justified. Good luck getting a sympathetic jury, prosecutor.

Why do you act like you are judge, jury and executioner for everything and everyone?
