They just jacked the price up on the Axe II, now its $2599.99

BUT if you get on the Fractal waiting list they will send you a $400 coupon code when your name comes up.

You almost have to wonder what the hell is going on with them. Just sell the damn things and stop all the Bullshit!!!! :gethim: At this rate you could get one and make a killing on evil bay with it.
Yep, truer words mate...

And not to be the antagonist [again] but was it NOT clearly stated that NO waitlists would be set up via Fractal direct? Only G66 and TM?? So yet another rescinding of 'plans set in stone'. May not be a big deal, but what about everyone on the TM or G66 waitlist already? So what, everyone phoning Rob up and asking - "which wait list should I be on???".

And a midstream price hike?? WTF!?!?!?! :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo EPIC FAIL in the PR and marketing department. So epic!!

Hopefully, this fiasco will signal them to shape up. Fractal Audio really needs to expand as a company to keep up with the market and popularity of their products, or else they're going to be doomed in the upcoming years. The posts on here about other companies reverse engineering the Axe FX is interesting, and seems plausible... FA could use some competition.

I would soooooooooooooooooo welcome it. Offer someone $10K for their Axe-II, or more, get a team of electronic specialists and computer engineers in a room, dismantle, study, recreate, BOOM. So long assoholic mods and heavy handed fractal royalty. Game over.

I had to post on their site this morning, it's Fathers Day, I felt I needed to vent

Peace Folks,
V.

I'm pretty easy going, but this is starting to get a little ridiculous.. So, does this price hike reflect on the pre-order price for Tone Merchant customers as well? Or do we get a coupon since we ordered when it was advertised as 2200?

All the more reason why I love Peter Diezel

Would be nice to see ADA come back. They had the MP-2 which had some effects in it. I wouldnt mind an ADA-Fx with 2 or 3 pre tubes in it. Would take the argument out of those that complain it is solid state and does not have a tube feel. Pair it with a RT2/50 VHT 2/90/2 or similar amp and you golden, best of both worlds. ADA could team up with TC electronics or Eventide. Win/Win

just because a modeling unit has preamp tubes biased by a voltage regulator does not mean the original signal is purely analog, compared to old 100W style amplifiers. the ADA units back in the day could be and still can be modified with the 3TM - three tube mod, to offer more saturation/gain. the signal however is still touched by analog op-amps and buffers which effect impedance loads and characteristics of tubes which we experience when playing. you wont get the same feeling or the same tone as a classic marshall. there is no bridge mixing solid state and tubes and saying its the same as a true all analog amplifier.

the new axe-fx units sound great for cleans and effects, a large improvement. but i wouldnt spend that amount of money on one just for those two features that couldnt be had in more efficient manners. i also wouldnt own anything that cliff has touched because he definately looks at others as profit material and not people/humans/customers with a choice.

I really hope the TM prices aren't hiked, because I simply can't afford it. I'm on a college student budget and struggling to put down rent/deposit on an apartment because I've spent too much money this summer, mainly because of the Axe FX 2 and deposit on a custom guitar.

I clearly have my priorities in order!

[waitlist, TM, price hike, yada yada...]

See, this is the problem - the short, nondescript, knee jerk blurt outs from the powers-that-be at FAS leave MUCH to be desired. Okay, we see a) a price hike, b) a waitlist c) a coupon. As well as the 'statement' they will NOT be entertaining ANY questions of those people ON the waitlists.

Excuse me?

How about something like this....

"For those of you who wish to not purchase the Axe-II at a premium, you're welcome to be placed on our newly established waitlist. In addition to being on this waitlist, we will attempt to send out some auto-alerts to your email, letting you know how production is looking, and offer as reasonable an ETA as possible. For those of you already on a waitlist, whether Tone Merchants or G66, the original price remains, and our new waitlist established direct with Fractal will not alter, impede or compromise your assumed position on these other waitlists.

For anyone wishing to bypass these waitlists, the storefront has a stock of 200 units, available for the stated price of $2599.00 and available immediately. This stock will continue to be replenished so long as there's a demand for the premium priced product, by non-waitlisted patrons.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters, and happy playing!

Why are people that clearly cannot stand Fractal supporting them by ordering their product?

If you put a down payment on it you are locked in on that price. As for the price hike it is all for people just trying to buy one off of the fractal site. guess he figures if he did that then he could have a list of people that ordered and go by that on his own time and if people ordered it through the site he would make another $400 on top of it.

REALLY PATHETIC if you ask me. BAD!!!!!!!! Business form.

As for the ADA-Fx, I know it is not the same as a Tube amp but would be more like the JMP-1 or MP1 with a tube pre flavor. Would add some competition and maybe draw some Axe users over because of the tubes. If you are going to put out something "LIKE" the Axe then you need to get a niche so it is not just a copy. People dont seem to have huge debates over a JMP-1/MP-1 and tube amps like the Axe vs Tube amp. I understand what you are saying glpg80, no argument just throwing out ideas for someone who might run with the ball. If I worked for Eventide,TC or some other company of the like, then I would have atleast an Axe II, Line6 HD500, Digitech 1101 and tear them apart and ask "How can we make this BETTER". Spend a year and run it through production then send them out to every GC, MF and every other music store the week before announcing its release.

I'm asking myself the same question... I'm jumping aboard because of the features, DI and recording aspects. It is a nice product, audio samples of the AXE-FX Ultra really caught my attention, plus the amount of effects in its arsenal. I'm a tube nut, through and through, and this is the first solid state product i've bought. Its jammed with options and its a tweekers dream, but the PR is horrid. Reading some of Cliffs posts in regards to his customer base, I can only shake my head. I deal with my clients all the time, and some are self centered whiny assholes, but you don't call them out on it, or group them together. I would be out of my position if I treated my clients the same way.

However, Fractal at the moment owns the market, they have a monopoly, so you play by their rules.... and they know it.

I sent an email to add to the list.
by my count, I am #110 on the list.

I don't care about all the hate. I'll get one eventually, and for the same price as everyone else.

Then I'll post my Ultra for sale, and take a beating.

Have they screwed up Customer Service wise? I don't know...I just got my Axe-Ultra a short time ago, and am a little upset the II is out, but what can you do? It has features I wanted in the Ultra. So I am getting it for those few extra features that will make it work more for my needs.
It seems as if they have gotten much bigger, and perhaps bigger than they anticipated.
Hopefully things will work out the kinks eventually.
It's a tool. useful for some. but just a tool.

Someone with deeper pockets will fuck this monopoly up hard at some point, just imo.

Most guys here are opinionated and that's cool. Brad runs a good ship here and does a great job developing the forum. I have nothing but respect for him.

Some guys here talk out of school about things, including me, which is pretty funny. Guys busting my ass make me chuckle a bit; it's funny that I have your panties so bunched up. Sorry if I've offending you and caused all the butthurt it seems I have.

If you have a beef with me, feel free to bring it to me personally via PM or email. This character assassination BS some of you play here is pretty lame. I don't conduct myself that way, I post with my real name and I stand behind what I post. This forum is kickass. Some of the members here? Not so much. This is as much a 'in-club' as any other forum; you just have a different 'in' is all.

It's funny the same clowns with the beefs with TGP or Fractal or me all mix it up in blender and piss over the whole mess. Really necessary guys? Hey, it's your playground. For the record, I am no shill for Fractal. I've spoken my mind plenty about what could and should be improved with the Gen1 Fractal gear. No one mentions a peep about that. Doesn't fit the profile so you ignore it. I've pretty much focused my rig on the Fractal because I have been using it - bought and paid for, just like anyone else. I play real gigs - yep, some of them even country gigs - but I don't see shots of guys that want to slag me posting shots of their gigs. Because real musicians don't slag other musicians on forums. There are assholes on every forum - TGP included. TGP is bigger and has more assholes because of that simple fact. It's math. Nothing's perfect.

I've been a member for a long time. Don't post much because of the sort of BS that permeates this thread. Most of it is from the same half dozen folks and that's fine. They can't help themselves.

I only talk about gear I have actually used or own. I don't talk out of school. I do get a kick out of the 'tears' references, but I'd like to see where I posted that because I honestly don't remember. I'd suspect that is more urban myth than reality.

Just saying hello. Back to the normal programming now....

Are you still jamming the Meloncon? I saw you had a Koa. I purchased a Tiger Eye Artist. Great guitar.

Yep - still have a Custom Artist "S" and a "T" both since 2004. Gerard is a great guy that makes great stuff.

I spoke with Gerrard. Seemed like a nice guy. Mine has the Piezo bridge and X preamp. I also have a couple of Suhrs. The Melancon is top notch as well. Great fret work and the easiest guitar I have ever played for chording.

Scott, these clowns and these other ones with they're panties in a bunch as you say, couldn't you have taken your own advice and shown them the error of their ways in these nicely phrased emails you talk about? Or do you just like to stomp around when you say hello? Big fan by the way.
