Is a Gibson Explorer comfortable to play sitting?

The crease of the two bottom bouts/angles should be resting on your knee or thigh :dunno:

If it's sliding around at that point i don't know what to tell you - maybe yours had ky jelly silicone in the finish

That's definitely a problem when you try to put a V on your lap (instead of angling it up with your thigh between the wings like your supposed to) but I've never, not once experienced that with an explorer or kelly shape guitar
No crease on a Kelly It’s rounded

I can see someone with short arms not liking the Mockingbird or Kelly standing, because they do tend to shift the guitar to the neck side standing up. But sitting both are supremely comfortable. Explorers sit more to the neck side than Mockingbirds or Kellys.

Explorers without arm bevels can be a little gnarly. Mine was a 25th Anniversary so it had a bevel but many do not.

Amazing playing guitar but i prefer it standing. I don't like where it sits on my lap. I just wish I could find a long strap because it is so wide that I can't get it low enough with any of the straps I have. If anyone can recommend a nice long leather strat that would be great

I played my old Explorer all the time sitting down and liked it just fine. Wish I had another one actually.

Coming from superstrats I did not like the fin, stuck to my arm too much. Both them and V's look very cool but aren't initially comfortable for me, if you really liked it I'm sure you could get used to it but try one first.
