Is it stupid to stack cabinets on top of heads?

I'm still in the process of figuring out where everything goes in my room. Can I stack shit like this? Or is this stupid? The SV20 has vents on top.

I wouldn't block any vents. I run fans in the back of my SVTs. Because they get good and hot.

Yeah, my biggest concern is venting the SV20. I also probably won't even run it that hot, who am I kidding lol.

In addition to overheating concerns, you might not like how that top cab sounds on its own. With it so far from the floor, it'll be missing a lot of bass from reflection off the floor and might sound thin and fizzy IMHO. (I don't like playing full stacks for this reason, but maybe others like how it sounds).

It’s not worth the expense but it would be bad ass to get the top cab reworked to mirror the bottom cab.

A little shelving unit could give the lower head more breathing room, but guys have stack heads on top of each other forever, both on and hot.

Don't do it, as it's likely to leave depression marks on the tolex. Cabs are far heavier than amps, which are okay to stack, they seldom leave a mark. But a 2x12 will literally be 40-50kg. At least I wouldn't. A good rule of thumb is heavier stuff at the bottom, lighter stuff on top.

For storage, yes but it looks a little unstable. I wouldn't do that, especially if playing. You need good ventilation.
