A guy was playing a JJN Blackstar stack live jast a few months ago locally. The wild part - I am standing beside my wife waiting for our popcorn or whatever and out of nowhere to her I say -"That's a Blackstar, I can hear it." Her: "Oh the guitarist in the band or something?". She knows me well. Had a look after and was correct. He was CRANKED trying to get himself that 'out front' sound, but it just sounded too loud and slightly too distant at the same time. The Blackstar curse. To be fair - the JJN stuff sounds easily the best out of their amps IMO, but it still has that character Blackstar sound - so - it may be your thing, and then you will love it because it is always there - but I can't unhear it. lol I have BSPTSD I guess.well never played one myself, but playing and hearing can be very different. if i played one i might never unhear it.
anything muffled drives me nuts when playing myself, so i think i have a glue what you're getting at
