The problem with Jason is that he can make almost anything sound good...if not great. More proof that a lot of your tone is in your technique, and he makes it look effortless.

That 33 pedal makes them all sound the same. I guess I can hear the rev Fs sound very very slightly darker but only after the reveal.

Jeesh, they were more similar than I would have expected especially with one having 34’s in the output section.
Jason’s right hand is a machine..
Great stuff. We have had Rectifier shootouts in here before but that one was done better than the other ones I can remember 👍

Yeah this is a repost - his original topic had a lot of discussion on it when first released a year ago. Back then the MW could still be purchased new before they discontinued it to shove the overpriced reissue bullshit down our throats. I’d be a lot less upset if they didn’t discontinue the MW. My assumption as to why they did that was to reduce competition and go back in time to simpler designs with cheaper repair costs/labor since that’s what Gibson does to companies.

His boosting technique and recording gear plays a big part in that too .
But his hands . It’s all about your hands period. You make the tone that comes out of the amp period . It’s never the amp . The hands will just color how YOU want the notes to come out . Sorry just was teaching this to my students lol I was ranting

I think the red channel on most Rectos except the 00s is pretty close on all models. Orange channel varies wildly. Older ones are more scooped, 2000s and multi watt get honky.

From the clip bf the reveal what was your pick?
Honestly, initially I listened on my phone and could barely tell any difference at all, after listening on my monitors I lean towards the F.
I think the differences between them would be easier to hear without boosting them, but I get why he did it.

The problem with Jason is he plays these riffs and makes them look so simple, so i go play my guitar and sound like a dipshit trying to emulate him
