John 5 - this guy never seems to run out of fresh ideas

That was great, he's just cramming in as much as possible in that video to promotr that site. He's a damn fine guitarist and I really enjoy his many tricks, some of these remind me of Tom Morello.

If that's considered Epic I'm proud to fails or be powned or whatever. I've never cared for acrobatic guitar unless it has musicality in it. Granted musicality is up for interpretation to the individual but that was awful to me. Not questioning whether he has technique or not. I would rather listen to the 6 year olds on You Tube

This isn't meant to be a musical piece, these are some techniques/cool things he's been showing off recently (I've seen a few in other videos recently) quickly strung together for whatever he was promoting. The stuff in the video is then extrapolated into larger musical ideas on his solo albums or with Zombie. Quick videos like this are proof of concept, cool things he will put into larger musical pieces.

Dude, It's not a car show. It's guitar playing. If he was saying here's some excercises to improve this technique and that technique, then I get it but otherwise I just found it it to be pure nonsensical wankery.

He seems like a cool guy, and is definitely original, but the shredding in the beginning wasn't really tight, was it? Or was he supposed to hit random notes in a scale twice when doing fast licks?

Agreed. Some of his tremolo picking was just robotic - completely stiff, no fluidity.

He's a killer player for sure and has a ton of great technique, but that aspect needs some work.

Oddly enough, I like him, and I'm with you...did zero for me...

yeah...this seemed.....out of character for the most part from his other playing.
