Right on Rob!!!!!!! Just saw this up here and coincidentally saw your e-mail in my junk folder. Anyways, congrats, I can hear that thing pumpin from here!

Nice score. That switchable loop with send and return level control, is it a standard Wizard thing or a mod? Done by Wizard or someone else? Tube or SS?

Very cool...congrats! I've always wanted to check out Wizard but I've never come across one.

I had my smart-ass "armor all" comment ready to fly but was late to the party ;)

Gents:

This is one of the early MCII's off the line. Serial # is in the 30's. My understanding is Rick was not yet offering the series FX loop as a standard feature when the amp first came out. This FX loop was installed by Rick as a special order by the original purchaser I bought the amp from. The seller described it as being a parallel loop, but the jury is still out given the way the 'Send' and 'Return / Mix' volume controls function. Unfortunately, I sent my pedalboards back to forum member Casey Hanson (http://www.fallout-labs.com) last week to have him do some revisions to them, so I am "effectless" at the moment. As soon as I get my pedalboards back, I'll test the loop in depth and post up a report. In testing the amp the day I purchased it, I can confirm the loop appears to be very transparent. Stay tuned for more loop details in a few weeks......

Hey Guys:

Thanks for all of the well wishes. I'm very pleased with this amp so far. I have to say though, I have NEVER in all my years felt an amp move air like this one does. Even at relatively low volume, you can FEEL this amp when standing 5 feet away from your cab. It is incredible.

As for the Armour-All :D : it's hard to say. It actually doesn't look as shiny in person as it does in those pics. Either the seller had literally just Armour-All'ed it immediately prior to shooting the photos, or it is a "trick of the light" that perhaps got exaggerated when editing the photo (colour/contrast correction, etc.)? Anyways, it looks pretty much identical to the standard black tolex on my Bogners.

JUNK folder?! I thought we were friends!

Is this one as loud as the older ones? I had a Wizard a few years back and it was loud as hell. Not a bedroom amp for sure. I do miss it though.

It can definitely peel the paint off the back wall of a theatre, if desired. However, it can be used at a reasonable volume level and still sound killer. Bedroom volumes? I don't really know what that means. Does that mean TV volume? If so, it will work, but it certainly won't shine at those levels. Does any 100 watt amp shine at '0.5' on the Master? ;)

Greenbacks go perfectly with all Wizard amps, try it out !

They are the best sounding amps ever produced in Canada, by far IMO :D

Yeah, I'm already planning on another 4x12" with Greenbacks! ;)

Great score!! Congratulations!

That amp was on eBay for a while and I was interested in it. It was a backup for the guy selling it and it was hardly ever used which is probably why it looks so shiny and clean.

There is an MCII in my very near future so I would love to hear what you think of the amp.

I'll definitely post up my thoughts in a few weeks, once the honeymoon is over. ;)

He's a cool dude that has had some reasonable success up here in Canada in an indy band.

I have your Wizard Modern Classic and yes its loud and sounds great... I also have modern classics from 3 others on this forum now! I'm sick, but they sound/feel so damn good...very addicting!

Nice! Not many amps out there that I'm really all that intersted in checking out these days, but a MCII is on the short list. Looks killer.
