Wow...all I can say is wow.
I've seen many, many bands perform live (500-600) and AIC absolutely was one of, if not THE BEST I've seen/heard. Jerry's tone was UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I heard he was rocking the 20th XTC and Uber's, and Shiva but who knows for sure, right? It could have been the friedman rig that was posted earlier this summer. Whatever it was, I've never heard such a perfect live rock guitar tone. It was thick and present, but with none of the usual live harshness. Watching him play after all these years was surreal and mesmerizing!

For some reason I kept telling my buddies before the show that I wanted to hear Rain When I Die, and they opened with it!
Duvall fronted the band well and his pitch was ON. Great harmonizing and great frontman.

Cool my g/f was bugging me about taking her to see them may be I will go check them out..

Rain when I die & It ain't like that are my 2 favorite AIC songs..

You can ask Friedman....he put the rig together. Last I spoke with Dave, he said Jerry switched his rig around since the photos he posted and now he uses the new Bogner 20th Shiva with a Friedman Marsha. I know he uses Motor City Afwayus and 2nd Degree Blackbelts in almost all his guitars.

Cool! Sounds like a better rig than the Uber and Alclhemist, though I'd be happy with either.

Interesting side note...In Jerry's latest interview, he said he used a Bogner modded Marshall exclusively on Facelift and Dirt.

geek stuff is fun but what songs did they play?
Opened with Rain when I die, then Again, then Them bones-Dam that River, God Am, We Die Young,
Then Duvall busted out the acoustic, Jerry stuck with G&L's and they played Down in a Hole, Nutshell, couple other slow ones...I forgot to mention that Duvall sounded great by himself as well as harmonizing.

New songs were mixed in but I forgot when they played 'em because I was so damn excited  They played both singles, Acid Bubble, and the title track(which Elton John played piano on for the album  )

No Excuses, Rooster, and Man in the Box at the end. I missed a few but oh well :)

Doesn't look like he has changed much Amplifier wise with the consistent use of Bogner amps
I remember looking at his rig back at a show in 91 or so and being impressed with how simple or basic it was, all he had was a couple Bogner preamps, Few Tubeworks Mosvalve power amps, and 2 Rocktron reverb type units with a cry baby wah and midi switch..
Sounded real consistent to what the album sounded like..
Then later on when they were on the Clash of the Titans tour with Megadeth and Slayer it didnt look like it changed much
I never forgot that because it made me go home and simplify my stuff..

All due respect to Dave Friedman, I doubt he's using a Marsha for his heavy rhythm tone...Shiva maybe for his semi-cleans. Listen to the recent live clips, it's Uber all the way. Just picked up the new Guitar World and he makes it pretty clear he's a Bogner guy. I know the word is he's using MCPs as well but is that actually confirmed?? His tribute series G&L uses a Cantrell designed Alnico 5 pick up and the USA models are loaded with SDs...

Well what he is using is a blend of the Marsha amp on the Brown Eye mod only gain on 10 and the New shiva. Now out front it is 70% Marsha Brown eye and 30% Bogner. Some extra delay is added at the board. Neither amp has a lot of gain. The Shiva goes through v30 speakers and the Marsha through 25 watt greenbacks. Other then that it mostly is the rig I posted with the addition of a Dunlop octave pedal and another Rotovibe in the rack. All the guitars have Motor City pickups afwayu or 2nd Degree Blackbelts. Dave

Damn! I stand corrected!! Dave, can you elaborate a little on how he got turned on to the Marsha and how he came to blend it into his current rig?? Jerry is one of my favorite players and he always has such a great tone.
