Went to our very own Hard&Heavy's house. Greg is a great dude! Greg I cannot thank you enough for your time. Greg had the following amps, the new 20th Anni Bogner Uberschall and Shiva, Diezel Einstien and Herbert, Some model of 65 Amps and an Elmwood M90.
Plugged into the Diezel Einstien first. Very happening hardrock 80's metal tone. Singing and punchy tone. I dug it alot.
Next up was the new Bogner Uberschall twin Jet. The clean channel was way different from the Uber(Rev 2) I had. Had more life to it and could get a killer hard rock tone. Channel 2 was insane. Very aggressive and nasty. Tight and all the gain and sustain you could ask for.
Then we jumped to the Herbert. The clean channel was way nicer than most high gain channel switchers. Pretty surprised by just how good this clean was quite frankly. Greg then switched it to ch2. Awesome tone here fellas. Could go from a Marshall-like bark to a balls out 80's shred tone. Probably my favorite channel on the Herbert. Then we went to channel 3. What a beast! I actually think its more aggressive than the Uber if thats even possible. The sickest metal tone I've ever heard without question. I honestly feel like the is the one amp that can truely cover all bases extremely well. If you have the cash this amp is a must try at the very least.
Next up the new 20th Anni Bogner Shiva. Beautiful clean. Seriously sweet tone here. Ch2 gets more aggressive than I remember the Shiva being. Not a modern metal amp but easily a hard rock 80's metal amp. Will also do Led Zep and classic rock about as good as anything I've heard. Neat amp. It's unique but very cool.
Then he plugged me into his 65. This is a Class A amp. Sweet sweet cleans to tone that was just breaking up. Beatles to Tom Petty can be had here. Also country dudes would prolly love this amp.
Then lastly the Elmwood M90. This was/is hands down the best amp I've ever played through!!!! If the devil was a shredder this would be his amp. I had a total blast playing through the Elmwood. The notes sang and the sustain seemed infinte. The tone was perfect to my ears. Kinda like an Slo without the ear pick, fatter and more saturated. I played one chord and knew I preferred this amp to the others, which is saying something considering how great his other amps sounded. Why Lynch and DiMartini aren't using this amp is a mystery to me. All 80's metal head and shredders, if you haven't already, go try this amp. My favorite amp to date!!!
Thanks again Greg.
