Les Paul clones

There are gems and turds in all lines regardless of price. Some of the Tokia and Burny LP's seen are excellent LP's, some suck...same with Gibson LP. I would say if one never found a good Gibson LP they must not have been looking too hard ;)

No sarcasm

At the end of the day I have tried many othe wanna be.s

Very good guitars.

But at the end of the day they weren't a les Paul.

The day I got my first historic, I realized that my search for a single cut was over.

Too bad it cost me twice of where I wnated

Orville by Gibson Les Paul custom are far better than anything gibson puts out these days. I have a 57 reissue OBG that is a unbelievable guitar quality and playability. I owned a gibson leas Paul custom and sold it after I got the orville by Gibson. The regular orville guitars are great also but the OBG are far better. I chose my $1500 OBG used to a 2012 Gibson less Paul custom that I paid $2700 used

The high end Tokai LPs are direct copies of the 59 spec Les Paul's (with a couple slight changes that I personally consider improvements to the original)... And they smoke R9s put out by Gibson (at least the ones I've personally played). There may be better Gibsons out there (subjectively) but at a 200% price increase, I don't see the added value. To each their own of course.

I've owned around 6 Gibson Les Paul Standards plus a couple of Customs and the best Les Paul I've owned/played is a Corsa Manalishi!

Been looking at clones too since recent Gibson prices are sky high and I've been jonesing for a les paul with P90's. Problem is you can't find any of these les paul copies in the states to try out.

Don't forget to look at Bacchus supposedly they have a good rep and you can order it with many options.

Buy used, There are some great prices out there on used Gibson's right now. No way I'd buy a greco or edwards right now with the used prices on Gibson's the level they are right now.

Don't understand why anyone would pay the insane prices for a new one. Tons of great ones on the used market at great prices.

I bought this LTD EC1000 FR a few weeks ago at the guitar shop my buddy works at. Picked it up to serve as a backup guitar. Took the stock emg's out as soon as I took it out of the box at home and replaced them with BKP Warpigs, all new pots, caps, coil tap, and put a brass big block on the floyd. Guitar plays great and has a really amazing feel. I was a bit surprised by it honestly. It's not a LP but the quality and play-ability are just as good as my LP standard. My LP custom is deff nicer but the price difference between them is completely unjustified IMO.

I own 13 Gibson LPs. I am GASing for a Edwards John Sykes model.

I know a few Tokai owners and they swear by them.

Probably not going to sound like the real deal but I would get a Burny or Tokai in a heart beat.. Older of course... I do love me some real Gibby's though... Say what you want there are some damn great ones out there.

How about a run down on what they are Ibenhad ? Like the green sparkles.

Not shown and the replacement for plain top is a 2007 black custom that weighs a TON....

Any questions lemme know... Yes they all play a little different and I do believe Gibsons QC sucks ass.

It looks like youre getting a lot of feedback but my friend Brandon plays an ESP horizon (i think, the single cut les paul type guitar) and he loves it so much he has two. one for stage and one for at home. He plays mostly metal.

Thanks. Some nice ones for sure.

There are a ton of used Standards and other series Les Pauls on the used market. I've played a bunch of clones over the years, and none of them sounded spot on for a Les Paul. People have been crying about Gibson QC for years. I don't see the issue. I have a 2001 Classic and a 2005 Standard. Both are absolute killer guitars. Both were purchased without ever laying a finger on the guitar.

Not crying about it here and could really care less about their QC issues but I have seen some I sure would not have been happy if I had bought them unseen. In fact wanted a White Les Paul custom in the worst way and my friend (music store manager) offered me up an awesome deal on a 2012 and I passed as the thing was a mess with quality issues. Just saying there are plenty of great ones but the shit ones sure are shit. Maybe I just expect too much when paying the kind of coin Gibsons are commanding these days. Buyer beware. I sure love all of the ones I have but they ain't all perfect.

NOTHING but NOTHING sounds like a real Les Paul. Don't kid yourself. Seriously. Ballpark yeah but not 100% IMHO.

I have a 96ish Japanese Tokai LoveRock and it's great.. total LP clone down to the unpotted paf's.

I think people just like to repeat what they hear without ever confirming on their own.

I honestly never cared for the myself until 2012 when I finally bought one after playing since the 80's, was just more into Fender, Charvel and Jacksons.

All 3 bought used, a 2012 Traditional Plus, 2008 BB7 57RI and 2009 R7 57 RI GT

I'm 3 for 3 and to some people claim that is impossible...whateva

I like Gibsons.. But yet play a PRS Tremonti USA.. But I tend to favor a Japanese Les Paul's. Greco and Tokai's are great.. Usually made to 50's specs.. Or even 70's specs. However you gotta watch recent made versions.. Those will be hit and miss..
