Les Paul clones

Heritage 140 can be had for about a grand, and your basically playing a Gibson les Paul 70's custom imo.

I'm surprised no ones brought up PRS singlecuts!! I have an SE I liked more than my old studio (now gone). I played every les paul I could fined for about 3 months before I settled on my PRS single cut.

I kept telling myself "You should like the Gibson more!" lol

I got a LP Traditional Plus used for 1500 bucks. I had about twice that to spend on a Les Paul and played at least 40 or 50 over a couple months. I tried the Traditional Plus and within 2 or 3 seconds knew this is the LP I want. It had Wolfetone pups in it and the volume/tone knobs were changed out also. It plays/sounds really nice, and I could not be happier. The Wolfetone Dr. Vintage pup in the bridge sounds great, with high gain it stays articulate and punchy, plenty of definition and clarity. All around A+!

On another note, my friend has a Tokai, not sure which one it is, but it is EASILY as nice as any Les Paul I have ever played. It sounds absolutely fantastic, and plays effortlessly. The Tokai also looks cool also, its a classic sunburst, but the quality is way up there. I know he paid close to 2 grand used. I never knew there were Tokai's that cost that much. I thought they were a cheap Japanese knock off. Boy, was I wrong. it is a very nice guitar. I would gladly welcome it into my guitar stable any day!!

this is very similar to my friends Tokai. some Tokai's are nice, I never knew they made such high quality guitars until I played my friends, and I was amazed at how nice it was. like I just said, my friends is very similar to this one for sale on craigslist. this one is pretty expensive, I wonder how much it cost new. it is over 10 years old.

heritage guitars are great!
A 157CM rivals many Pauls I have played. The Heritage builds great guitars. The setup is where it needs some help. Once one gets it set up right, it is as good or better than a Custom. Bottom line if you are handy or know a good luthier go for it. The build is as good as it gets compared to Gibson. Take a great Gibson and the Heritage will be built better. I replaced the bridge and slotted the saddles perfectly as it was not done very well from the factory. Heritage guitars come with a nut slots that need to be filed lower. At least the two brand new ones I played did. No big deal if you have some nut files. I would rather have them higher than too low. Obviously this made a huge difference in playability. The fret work is outstanding but you may find one high one. Both I played had one high fret. Filed just a hair, recrowned and polished and the frets are as good as my R8.I actually prefer the Heritage fret shape. They are a little bigger than Gibson with a rounder crown. These are phenomenal guitars for the money. I would not trade mine for a Custom. I recently played three different Customs and the 157 is a keeper.

I had a nice stripped PRS for a blink of an eye. Great guitar, but it was no Les Paul. If you love PRS guitars and want a good single cut, its prefect. If you love Led Paul's, I don't think you'll be satisfied.

I have an Edwards that I absolutely love. Very Randy Rhoadsish.

I own 13 Gibson LPs. I am GASing for a Edwards John Sykes model.

I know a few Tokai owners and they swear by them.

Get it man, I have the JS model and it's AWESOME. Trying to buy another Edwards this week actually, the same cream model above!
