I like listening to most of my own stuff tbh, it came from my imagination so i suppose I should do
Even if it doesn't measure up to what I can do now, it's still interesting to hear the progression in playing and songwriting (Being generous with that second one btw).
This is my last one that just kind of wrote itself as I went along.
I dig it! Eric Johnson has a song with that twang at that tempo. Thr best songs are the ones that just come out of your brain. That is why so many of us love Faith No More.

Cool stuff. I went back and listen to some old songs a couple weeks ago. This is from 2008 I think. Me singing, yikes listening back. But it was so fun, I doubled just about every solo on the album.

Taking a serious risk of sharing this but it's already on my YT channel. 
From around 1989... one take bass and guitar jam. Bass played by a friend. Peavey Bandit with a cheap microphone in front. Drums from a Kawai K1 keyboard. Recorded with a Tascam 4 tracks.

About the time you recorded this, my area had a short lived music scene. Guys in their late teens-early 20s and your song reminds me of those bands. Thanks for posting it!

I still like the songs/performances of my early demos, other than the fact I used a drum machine then. It had a good sound and I triggered it live, but as was typical for the time, no dynamics were possible, you got a full hit every time. I don't like drum machines for metal/rock songs, it's like calling a piece of cardboard "steak". 
Years later I taught myself to play a drum kit and got a very good electronic kit for the studio, and that made all the difference. This reminds me, I still need to get around to re-recording and maybe re-working some early songs/sketches with the kit. My style hasn't changed much at all with trends, but I have much better gear + technique, and my songwriting toolbox has expanded bigly.

Really digging this one a lot. I like to use this busy riffing in the verses and opening up the chords in the choruses for my stuff too.

I still like the bassline in this tune we wrote as a band. The outro ain't bad. Of course, we didn't have a great singer and the lyrics are a bit cheesy. I played organ and the distorted guitar and did harmony vocals. We recorded this in a garage and no, I didn't know what I was doing.
