You know it's funny, I thought the exact same thing about the Bogner. Is it even a tube amp? They do so much signal filtering between gain stages it doesn't sound much like a tube amp anymore.

Interesting the XTC classic I have does not make me feel that way at all. It just goes to show you each of us hear so many things in so many different ways.

Yeah the classic is a different animal entirely. The 100/101 series are the ones that I don't care for.

The XTC is one of the best sounding amps I've ever played. Definitely sounds like magical tubes at work! You should check one out in person. :yes:

Oh I have. I've tried out the 100s 101s and classic. I don't much care for them (well the classic is okay), but to each his own.

I do agree with this to an extent. I loved my XTC 101B...but it was missing the punch that I like to hear from my amps.
