Live tracks better than recorded version

Man, you missed out badly then - Helloween with Andi singing was almost as good as when Kiske and Kai were in the band

Have you heard "Master of the Rings" and "Time of the Oath"? They are literally just as good as the Keepers albums.

I was such a huge fan of their early work through Keepers- they were my #1!
I think I bought one of the post Keeper discs and hated everything about it at the time, then immediately latched into Gamma Ray hard for a decade or so.

I just re-found them and really LOVE Gods and Monsters. I'm going back in time now and I still don't love the early 90s stuff but don't hate it anymore. The Dark Ride from around 2000-ish is amazing, I really dig the detuned nu metal thing they were trying to do.

The weird thing is, on the new tracks from 2020 on, I think I enjoy the Andy led tracks more than the original guy. Stuff like Hand of God really grooves for me.

I might get an airbrush of Helloween on a jean jacket soon lol

Man they have a ton of excellent post Kiske/Kai material - Basically everything is good, and a handful are great, even sans Kai/Kiske

the aforementioned Master of The Rings is one of the greatest power metal albums of all time, by any band, but is easily as good as the Keeper albums, just in a slightly more AOR/Hard Rock direction

But especially as far as live stuff, the pumpkins reunited is incredible

Not because I was influenced by KISS, but the EARLY STUDIO album recordings are lame and weak. The ALIVE recordings bring out the energy and power.

Like you, i'm a huge KISS fan and those early albums sound so slow.

Same thing with Cheap Trick. "Live at Budakon" is so awesome.
