Not true. Doug had a Cameron modded Marshall and used it for parts on the Dio album, even though most was the Suhr. That’s not a lie.

In that pic…. I think there is a Cameron modded Standel, a Suhr (maybe Golub) modded Marshall, a Cameron modded Marshall, and possibly a Roccaforte modded Marshall.

Steve K. had a Martin Golub JMP was one of the finest. Man that guy had a pile of amps.

They sound like "bedroom amps" at best.

Roccaforte and Cameron were both starting to claim it was their modded Marshalls Doug was using on the record, but somehow it came out that it was mostly the Suhr/Golub modded Marshall.

Super freaking awesome tone and playing on "Killing the Dragon!"

yep this is true. Back then was some awesome shit going on. Roccaforte can definetly wire an amp.
MC had his moments but then spiraled out of control like the Ted Bundy "snatch & grab" of amps.
They say the worst one's are the one's that never get caught.

Many fully grown men here will approve of this amp tone but will deny that a Blackstar amp is producing said amp tones...........

Doug seems to really like a thick smear in the tone for his double stop, type rhythm playing and the big bends but I just find it a little muddy and has no teeth or bite, just sizzle. Seems like a very nice guy but I don’t actually care for his playing that much, as technically capable as he is.

Did Blackstar solve their QC issues? I seem to remember them being p.o.s.'s from a quality control standpoint. I was not fond of the one I had.

After 15 yrs my KS JMP is still doing well. Popped a fuse a few years ago, guy sold me a bad tube. It happens.
When i heard James Lugo's 71 KS Super Trem i knew thats what i wanted. It took me 3 yrs of research to pull the trigger.
Wasn't hardly any reviews before Friedman built his own amps.
