Some of you may have seen my 50+ Vintage 30 shootout a few months ago. One of the V30 myths I looked into was the "new" Vintage 30 that become popular after a Glenn Fricker / Spectre Sound Studios video.
I only had two new V30s and the results weren't definitive. So I went and got four more new V30s to test.

Seems the V30 cones were much like they were in the early 2000s for a short time between 2021 and 2022 but by the end of 2022 were back to the way they were for the last 20 years.

I've prepped the set up for the break in test and made some sweeps of a pair of 2021 Marshall G12 Vintages to supplement the results from the last video. I also needed to get a few things off my chest before moving on to the break in test and V30 alternatives:
