Well I guess he didn't have me in mind because I wouldn't buy a new Marshall. Period.
Then why did you post in this thread ?

You know he recorded the new album with this amp right?

what deal does it matter if the pedals are inside the amplifier or outside the amplifier. its the same damn thing

Why do they even add a boost inside the amp?! Built in Reverb? All these features that add up into the ridiculous price of the amp. I'd rather have it separate if I think I need it...

New Marshalls suck anyways...

I dunno why they add extra stuff, they did the same thing with the Kerry King model-EQ and noise gate.

Would like to see Yngwie demo it as well.

The only thing I can think of, is that YJM wanted people who don't know any better to be able to get his tone out of the amp (at the music store) so that they wouldn't be disappointed played one not knowing all the other things involved in the signal chain. (like the boost pedal)

In a similar story EVH is coming out with a new 12000 with build in plate reverb, phaser, and EP3..

Have u played through a 1959 100w Super Lead Reissue ( Handwired) or 1987 Plexi 50 reissue? they're louder than sin and sound like what they are supposed to sound like.

does not really make any sense to me. i guess they felt a need to include the pedals in the amplifier because anything else would just be replacing the front cover of the marshall with a signature and thats it - otherwise bone stock to what they already carry.

they could have saved alot of time and money and just sold a package deal endorsement pedal seperately for each

to be honest i think it is a bunch of marketing scams - the reason yngwie is not playing it is because he has no reason too. the reason they are overpriced is because people exist that will pay for the name, even though they know well they can cop the tone by getting external pedals. boosting a marshall is not anything new by an stretch of the mind whatsoever.

KK is different - he does play his at least, but his are not a limited run and expensive as all get out :jerkit:

what makes you so certain he isnt playing them? he hasnt even started touring yet and so far its been noted he's used the new sig amp in his latest release, used it at NAMM concert and that Jimmy Fallon show thingy. I had read somewhere where he doesnt even bring his old Marshalls overseas, just in states because he's afraid they might get lost in transit and same with vintage guitars. He rents whatever he can get his hands on outside U.S.

I wondered if that was the amp on Jimmy Fallon, kinda thought it might have been.

what makes you so certain it matters what he chooses to play? does it matter if he does or does not? two pedals outside of the amplifier is the same damn thing as two pedals built into the amplifier. his signal chain isnt changing either way.

it is money making scams for the public because it has his name on it. everyone and their mother knows what is needed to get close to yngwie's tone. why spend copious amounts of un-needed cash when pedals will get you there quicker and easier and there are no limited runs produced.

just money gimmicks.

I am hoping to play the YJM this June, going to be at a place where it should be present..........................

How is that amp stupid expensive????? Have people looked at this forum lately what people are paying for stuff?

I love the design, a plexi based amp with studio grade verb and power scaling is an awesome idea. On-board boost is very cool as well, doesn't everybody yell about solo boosts for their amps?

i see it, but i dont comment on it. the idiom "a fool and his money are soon parted" comes to mind :)

most people who yell about boosting amplifiers say an amplifier should not need to be boosted, or complain about having to boost one. a pedal inside an amplifier is no different than using one externally.

power scaling built into a 120W amplifier? that makes no sense. buy for what you need, not what you want. i can understand 50W/100W due to feel and compression, but .5W mode? i mean seriously?

i purchased a 120W 5150 not to be used for a bedroom amplifier but to be used for gigging and band practices. buy for what you need, not what you want

So, a true replica would be a stock Marshall 1959? Wait! Yes, I do believe Marshall has done that one several times before. I would have preferred a bottle opener on the side... :D

epoxy a stock PCB board, double the price, change the front cover to include yngwie's signature, and you got a deal

Marshall is up there with the likes of Gibby and others for being blatant marketers 100% of the way... I'm not saying it's a BAD thing, I'm just saying I don't "do" siggy models (EXCEPT FOR LES PAULS AND LETS JUST SAY THAT'S A GIVEN ALRIGHT :gethim: ).

Whatever, the psychology behind marketing - and we all know this - is offering something that makes us think we might garner something that gives us that extra level, the inspiration, the magical ability to play like [enter signature model rockstar person's name here]. C'mon, that's what it's ALL about!?!?!?! I haven't read much AT ALL on this forum about Yngwie's "tone". I've heard a LOT of peeps talk about his abilities - and damn I'm 100% DOWN with that - that cat's off the hook, period. Incredible guitarist. He's a bloody master. No denying it. But I haven't heard or read much about the interest in his "tone". Tool fans, there's many of us here, a lot of us own - taaaaadaaaa - Diezel VH4s. Slash fans, taaaaaadaaaaaa - the AFD and Plexi proper. Who likes LOG, betcha you like Mesas too. It's all there, and there's nothing wrong with it. But the fact is I'm wondering if Marshall took an odd turn here(?) because, of the stuff they've schlepped out in the siggy department, much of it has been tone based marketing. Yngwie's got less of a signature "tone" than he does a signature "style", and that's something I don't think anyone here can replicate.

Just my take on things. Since it's not 'tone' they're trying to convey with the YJM model, it's Yngwie himself they're trying to schlepp out. And since they're a bright enough bunch to know that those who buy will soon find out they're not any closer to playing like the master himself, they (Marshall) put a bunch of fiddlywink additions into the amp so it takes the prospective buyer longer to [try and] find that magic 'crystal lattice' in the amp, but at the end of the day, you're still you playing an amp. And you ain't Yngwie.

DUde, i really dont give a give a rats ass what yngwie or anybody else plays, Jesus man, these threads get so fucking retarded. I just stated a fact not an opinion based if he was being true to his product line from what i can see. Done! An honestly, if it had Kurt Cobain's name on it, Id still be interested in the amp because of the 50w/100w and power scaling feature and the fact its modeled after a Super Lead. u dont have to be into the "yngwie" sound to get this amp, its serves all purposes for any rock tone. And so what if he makes money on it? Pro Athletes, Musicians all alike have products and contibuted to developing them for their suitable needs and they get marketed. If it makes you bitter, then I dont what else to tell ya, more important things life to worry about it.

This, and:
Short, short version: who gives a shit if the artist PLAYS it on tour, so long as they can co-design a great piece of gear? A lot of folks like the design decisions on the Fender Yngwie sig., enjoy playing the crap out of them, so who cares if that's what Yngwie plays on tour? Same goes for all gear.

This thing is limited edition, only 150 for the US. Hardly worth getting twisted about it

The Superlead with computerized innards will sell out immediately at that quantity for collection rooms/photo ops for message boards all across the land.

Is the Boost tube driven or transistor like his pedal? It's got 4 12AX7A in it...

I have no opinion on the Yngwie Marshall sig.

But Yngwie was on Jimmy Fallon??? Crap. Totally missed that one. Will have to go looking for it on the web...
