Next step for you now is to get a Barber direct drive. The DD into the tite gain setting is money.

And I do have one of those on my board...I also have an original ss direct drive for sale 100.00.
I just bought a BK Butler with the bias mod so Im offing some gear.

i hope so i paid 375.00 for it
Is that what they are going for ? Maybe I should dig mine out ....

That's a current model built by BK Bultler with the bias mod. Original Tube drivers go for about $150-$250. The Chandler built tube drivers go for less.

In the video Andy says the Tube driver doesn't sound good through very many amps.

sounded like shit sold that bitch already HORRIBLE

I've messed around with the Deuce a couple of times at my local L&M. It definitely has a cool vibe to it. I found it to be absurdly bright, so my EQ settings were: Bass - 10, Mids - 10, Treble - 0, Presence - 0. That being said, when I tried it through a Mesa 4x12 with Vintage 30s using a PRS Mira Korina... I was blown away... it was like a nice old power soaked Marshall on steroids. It's definitely still got that Mesa 'feel' when I play it... but the tone is a bit more Marshally for sure with the EL34s.

The bright thing is very different once you get the master past noon. It really needs to have the poweramp a little pushed to get the most out of it. I use a Hot Plate to control the volume. I tend to use the master around 1~2:30 o'clock.

Do you mean the output? I run mine high 12-1 oclock with the individual channels around 9. I just made a deal to trade it but just wondering.

What I mean is the amp needs to be in the loud drum-set volume range. The amp has a bright voicing. But in a band at these volumes the voicing makes sense.

:) I do mean the masters as I bypass the loop most of the time.

Fair enough. Being that I was in the tiny amp room at Long & McQuade... I don't think I had it turned up past 3 or so just because of the sheer size of the space I was in...

:) It tends to be harsh set that low. Some amps do not sound that great till the power amp is pushed ~ this is one of them.YMMV

Yeah I agree that this amp needs to be turned up to really sing, the low end fills up at louder volumes as well. I just find keeping the master lower and cranking the output has a sweeter tone in the top end.
