Imagine how great this would sound with Mike Portnoy on drums, and Michael Schenker on lead guitar.

Lars is still playing that same damn rock drum beat... lol. Doesn’t fit it at all. James and Robert sound on the same page though. Kirk must’ve done some shrooms before recording his bit or something hahaha

I can't tell if Lars' facial expressions are trying to convey that he's 'feelin' the groove' or that he's just in agonizing pains, arthritis and shit...

Jaymz now looks like the bromance of Harvey Keitel and the dad from Orange County Choppers.

Song still gives me goosebumps from the 1989 Philly show  Tried posting the youtube clip...wouldn't work.

I saw this the other day....I kept thinking Kirk is the new Jason...cuz they mixed him at -15db just like they did Jason on the original album

I liked it as something on its own. There was something about the tempo/phrasing during the verses musically I had hard time listening to at first, maybe cause the riff was played differently to 'break it down' acoustically more.

I thought it had a very creepy feeling on its own, which fits the character of the lyrics in a way. It doesnt touch the original, and especially that performance linked above.

I think this was pretty cool, a good song is a good song in every shape or form.
Unplugged should be back, real musicians performing their own somgs with a different angle.
A lot better than the plastic shit out there, quantized to death, the same riff copied pasted endlessly and vocals melodined to perfection.

LOL Lars fucks up even the intro.
Besides this is a one is pretty bad. Washed out i reverb, phazey, lars loosing it in almost every turn, almost every bend is out of tune, with Kirk. The middle section is ok, Lars should not play anything above children of the grave in speed. There should be a better version.

I tried a few times to listen to this version and man I just can't. It's times like these I honestly wonder if they should just stop.

It's one of my favorite Metallica songs and could barely choke it down.

At least they didn't rehash something from Lulu or St. Anger Or Reload or Load or Hardwired. I guess.
I actually dug Hardwired... to me it sounded better than Death Magnetic, and almost like a sort of 'what the natural evolution after AJFA would be', moreso than the Black Album.
But the other ones are utter crap, I agree. And Load/Reload should have been released under a different (project)bandname.

I am only a pre AJFA guy tbh. Everything prior was amazing. Everything including AJFA and after, I never really 'got'

Now throw Lombardo on drums and a competent lead guitarist? I would rock that shit forever.
