Are some of you looking fora high gain mass compression auto-pilot tone?

Sounds like a plexi that you have to dig in to play to me.

$3500??

That is a joke, I could buy 70-72 plexis for a grand less.

a 1970-72 Marshall Plexi would be a rare amp indeed.

Hey, that is Degenaro's job of being the plexi police!

Freaking cloth diaper polisher collectors

Am I missing something? That sounded like a fuzzy muddy mess
Almost as good as the Cameron clips huh???

NO

  I'm guessing you missed the premier guitar coverage of it then

I just figured the comment you posted meant you missed the clip I posted.

No worries. I've played the CCV, and several Cameron modded amps, and a fizzy/muddy mess, isn't how I'd describe them. I LOVE them. The Black SLP in my sig pic, is a Cameron modded High Gain Jose, and a CCV, and Atomica are in the future for me.

I'm more interested in what sort and how much weed "Charles" smoked before that video... that dude is super-baked!

Also how many In/Out burgers did he eat after that video was shot?

Yeah, that guy was a moron. My wife could have done a better job. He didn't do the Metro-Friedman amp or the Cameron amp any justice.

I know how each of these amps sound, and yes both sound much better than Premier guitar's representation   they botched it up pretty good I think, and for being such a professional group, well you know

I agree the Metro-Friedman & CCV [PG] clips could benefit from a do over, and bring back Joe Coffey.

These two sound pretty good.

Yup, that's sounds more like it :)

I agree their vids need some help. It wouldn't be hard- the only way to do it properly is record the audio with one or preferably 2 proper mics on the cab, through a good pre and interface, into a program like Logic or Protools- at the same time they record the camera audio. Then you mix the audio down later and import it into the video.

And have good players. Of course

Yup

They picked everything i hate about Marshalls and put them all in that one.... The low end is mud and the high end has too much "eeee" to it.

I'm glad my plexis don't sound like that. :)

What can ya do, your at the mercy of the guy with the video camera. He leaves the auto compress button and your screwed. Damn if you do damn if you don't. I challenge anybody that was in the room while Phil X or Pete Thorn was playing either the Friedman or the CCV to say it didn't sound amazing. I agree these video sound like ass.

I can see it now, when ever a new amp comes out you have to hire a Hollywood movie producer to make a featured video with surround sound to keep everyone happy.

I'm not sure the sound quality is so much an issue here. The playing and reviewer are pretty substandard for such a quality amp.

I'm just wondering what features make it worth $3500. I'm not hearing anything that I haven't heard done better by a stock 1959. Sure as shit am I glad I made my metro kit way back and saved myself a lot of money.

Actually I would say the sound quality is the main issue. Their vids always sound terrible due to it just being the interviewers mic getting the amp. I never understood it because it represents the amp as sounding like shit. Sure you can excuse the circumstances but the bottom line is you're sending that out into the world as a representation of what your baby does. I wouldn't let them review anything I'd made unless they recorded it worth a damn or would let me record while they film and give them the file to sync up later.

I think that they did an alright job of capturing that amp in the metro/friedman clip but they really shit the bed on the ccv clip interview. Still 3500 for what george use to sell for 2k with some tweaks seems a bit much.
