Michael Nielson agrees with me: the FTT Flight Time is the best delay pedal ever created

Easy to emulate analog. The Deep Blue Delay IMHO does analog better than any analog delay
I'm interested in building a DBD clone. The sound clips are quite similar to my Ibanez EM5 clone. Clarity of digital, but with the right feel and tone degradation of analog, without the murky quirkiness.

Deep blue is a classic

Regarding the original 2290 vs TL comparison, I’m curious if the comparisons observed were with the 2290 in mono mode. Virtually all stereo FX lose a certain wow factor when operated in mono.

I've used the 2290 in both stereo and mono in rigs before :dunno:

Obviously there's certain effects you can't create with a mono pedal, but what i was most concerned about was the "sweetness" and the delays getting out of the way of the note

IME, most of the stereo from the 2290 is from phase and volume/panning. It definitely loses that when left and right are summed, but just using it in mono, it still has that sweetness, and the delays still sit just right with the dry sound. Panning becomes tremolo and D+E/D-E phase doesn't matter if you use only one side.

I wonder why they built that thing so damn big, same with the TC, just to much high quality product out there like Timeline and Nemesis for them to box themselves into a corner with the size of those pedals. Idk, maybe there is a reason.

Likely aesthetics and making the display long enough to seem similar to the OG’s, keypads included.

The 8 voice chorus is just 8 delay lines where each has modulation.

Yes, true that ! But can those 8 delay lines be filtered or feedbacked separately ? No. It's more of a multi-tap (8 modulated tap mixed together) delay than a real 8-voice delay. It's really a 8-voice chorus, not a full featured 8 voice delay like the UD.
