Millennial Music fucking sucks

As a millennial I don't know who associates millennials primarily with this music.

Nu metal, emo, pop punk, hip hop are all far more popular "millennial" genres. I guess if you want to make a joke about it then yea totally, but if you're actually saying this is millennial music it's really not. It's hipster music. There's a larger portion of millennials that made fun of hipsters than there were hipsters.
The distinction is that those other genres you listed were embraced, and still are, by a much wider age gap audience than stomp clap hey music which pretty much came and went within a single generation.

Yea, but it wasn't even embraced by that generation :ROFLMAO:

I seriously don't understand why millennials are acting so boomer-y about this.

"WELL I DONT LIKE IT, THAT MEANS IT'S INCORRECT!!!"

Jesus, I don't like this shit either, and I'm millennial. I'm sure boomers don't like being associated with selfishness and voting away the riches of the West, but it is what it is.

It literally does not change the fact that this is the music people associate with millennials. I'm sorry that that hurts everyone's fee fees man. It kind of hurts my fee fees too.

Yes, the entire non-millennial population of planet earth all associate this awful music with millennials for no reason whatsoever. No doubt brother :rawk:

This is literally the first I've ever heard of millennials, as a whole, being associated with hipster music.

Most people are idiots though, so I guess it makes sense.

I think it's honestly because the older millennials listened to a pretty wide variety of music, which is much harder to pin down and make a stereotype of

and the younger millennials flocked like the salmon of capastrano to this folk revival hipster shit, so it was much more recognizable as a "movement" and a "thing that happened"

Either way, for better or worse, this is what everyone else thinks is "millennial music" unfortunately

Whatever the next generation will be, and possibly even the current gen alpha, probably won't even have or care about real music. They will be the generation of ai music. You know what stations are actually popular on Spotify? They are stations that only play modern cover versions of classic song. And by classic I mean songs that are 20 years or older. It's sad to hear new soy versions of soy songs that came out 20 years ago.

By I refuse to capitalize "ai", and I will never do that. It doesnt deserve capitalization status.

That's really sad tbh

I had no idea - I don't use spotify, and I refuse to use it

That shit literally destroyed the economy for musicians

Pop culture has officially became- regurgitating trends… Innovation will become a rarity.

Soy Bop? That’s weird..

Fuck Spotify. I fuck with Tidal.

The whole industry has problems I'm trying to sort out....

Don't use streaming services, then what? Sell physical CD's? That's the equivalent of selling nokia brick phones now. Good luck moving 500 units. Don't use CD's and only do streaming? Now you literally have zero return on your work instead of almost zero. No CD? Oh, our shitty blues rag won't review your streamed album, physical copies are a must! I'm actually trying to figure out what the best way forward is for my next recordings is and tbh I still have no idea.

I was raised in a blue collar town in TX and stop clap and hipsters would get their ass beat. Moved to Dallas during the inception of stomp clap and everyone who was into it were millennials from elder to whatever the tail end is called. I would go to metal and hardcore shows with these dudes and hipster music was kind of associated with the coffee shop. No one really scoffed at it, but we also didn’t cream our skinny jeans when someone said “I sure love my Ma and Pa” *holds back vomit*

Not all boomers liked disco but they have to face the facts that they will be associated with it.

I just look back and laugh at how retarded it was, but I’ll take suspenders over a perm and bell bottoms. The current generation though, is really in for it.

You old farts need to get with the times. Making fun of millennials is very 2015, we’re making fun of zoomers now.
I was going to shake my fist at you and bad mouth your youthful spirit...but then I saw your wonderful avatar and realized we are beer bretheren.....lol

I must have something wrong with me because I like all beer, except sours. I can occasionally taste a sour but tastes like indigestion. My favorite beers are German beers. Perfectly crafted and delicious. I do like IPAs occasionally but love Guiness too. For any of you who haven't tried, Erdinger and Ayinger are amazing.

BTW, I'm fucking weird. When I was a kid, the very first three albums I ever bought, I bought together at a Target. Bush's "Sixteen Stone", TLC's "Waterfalls", and Garth Brooks' "In Pieces"
Haha
See I must be weird because I think that is awesome, lol.

Best results for me have been selling vinyl with lossless mp3 downloads.

And also designing really badass looking merch

I’m gonna have to agree with you, and I’m also a millennial. I remember when this bullshit happened but it wasn’t popular outside “hipster” brewery fags. Were they all millennials? Yeah I guess but I don’t think that was their defining trait at all since the majority of the generation looked at their green flannels, silly hats and shitty beards and scoffed.

Can you explain lossless mp3's to me? I had both WAV and mp3's but the mp3's were definitely not lossless. It was like they needed their own separate mix...
