Blackstrap molasses may be bitter. I use straight dark full flavor unsulphered molasses and it is sweet with a hint of bitter. I may try blackstrap molasses in the future just to see but the video did say dark molasses will work just as well.I wonder if turbinado sugar has some of these benefits since it still has molasses in it?

My grocery store carries a small producer straight molasses that I have been getting. What you in your pic have should be fine.

When i used to homebrew, i used to put blackstrap molasses in the mash. Very nice flavor and fermentable sugars too.Molasses is sweet, but blackstrap molasses is bitter.
Not sure if bitter is the correct word here 'though; it's not-pleasant to most peeps.
