It’s just soo amp dependent....when I got my first SLO I had a quad of SED 6L6 that I was looking forward to putting in. After 5 minutes back in went the Sovtek wafers. C+ love Sylvania 6L6/415s but Rectos don’t care WHAT tube you have in imo.Oh wow, I find the Sovtek wafer 5881 totally different than a SED 6L6...almost like they're opposite ends of the 6L6 spectrum. That is...SED in a BF Fender and wafer 5881 in an SLO but not the other way around.
Newer production amps don’t seem to favor NOS tubes either in my experience.
