I got one and I think this is a one trick pony pedal. I might be in the minority here but I think this pedal only work with a clean channel. I put this pedal in front of my JVM Marshall and when I'm using it with the clean channel then it sound great. If I switch to a channel with distortion then it sound like shit. This is even after I dialed the gain on the amp to a low level.
I believe that's what the pedal was designed for, to play through a clean channel. I received one from my Dunlop rep and he told me to play it through a clean channel, so I did..my VH demo in case you haven't seen it..

Crazy playing, sounds really good! You've got a Suhr neck on an EVH (or Charvel) body? Never seen that before! Great demo!
No it's a one off Suhr EVH replica I had them make some years back

I like your guitar choices for this clip. Almost as much as you playing! Cool guitars.

Cool! Bet he won't make another one of those anytime soon!

Think the 5150 pedal would work in front of the '04 QR in "clean" mode?

Question for you Al, I've been watching your playing for some years now ever since you demoed the Splawn..Great work

I noticed that in the video you made for the 5150 overdrive, that for the most part the pedal is set with all controls on 1 with the boost and gate engaged.

Its only when you go to the flanger, that the settings change.

Is this how you actually set the pedal up ?

No, Suhr won't make anymore striped guitars..The pedal should work fine through the QR clean channel.

The settings I use on the pedal are at the 5 minute mark, look for the still shot of the pedals, the boost is on for all the songs except HFT and BOBW.

As much as a VH freak as I`am I rarely attempt to play VH licks with this pedal and my Friedman rig for that matter. I`m just to lazy to learn his licks the way there meant to be played. This pedal shines for hard rock like Dokken, Ratt Jake E Lee and also some not so high gain stuff like Gary Moore and Michael Schenker. But like you I also got bought this pedal due to Al and Pete Thorns demos
