My old TSL don’t sound too bad

I just heard from Dan Gower say on Sunday that the TSL and DSL were a little flubby in the low end and that a boost was required. Strangely, I remember being able to play without a boost on the DSL100 that I used to own. However, I wonder if it was flubby and I just remember it differently. I was interested in the TSL60 because it has a master volume and is lower wattage than the 100. Maybe just get the JVM410 like I originally planned. I'm in contact with GC / MF about finding a JVM410 and will likely pick one up this month.
When I got my first DSL back in 2004, I initially used a Boss GE-7. Then gravitated to a Zakk Wylde OD. The TSL60 I used an SD-1. I could not get along with the TSL. As mentioned earlier, the footswitches were garbage. Many had problems with them, they were notoriously junky. Had a friend at the time with the TSL100, and it spent more time in the shop than any amp I've ever seen. Every week, something was wrong with it.

I know you laughed when I said it sounded better than the Larry, but I actually think that a day later. The Larry sounds great but however you have that TSL eq'ed sounds great.

From what I remember the TSL series cuts a little more bass on the front end of the amp on the second stage, is a little tighter and isn't as flubby on the gain channels because of that, however the TSL has some solid state in it for the clean channel.

If you play quiter jvm is better . If you jan with a band there no comparison . TSL for the win by far if so

I have found the opposite that I can get better sounds out of the DSL quiet, and it does have this awesome roar to the sound when cranked up, but it just simply isn't tight enough for more modern stuff like the JVM in my opinion.
