A while earlier, I sold off my JVM and stopped playing for a very short bit (I was still buying gear though lol)

Now that I'm a bit "back", I went on Marketplace for a new amp and lo and behold!

Well... it's an amp

and holy shit this thing sounds good rofl

The knobs and switches were giving me options paralysis, but I think I can make do with the settings i'm using now

I have half a mind to change the trannies to something lighter, though. Holy shit this thing is heavier than it looks.

It's definitely more dynamic and has a bit more "grunt"

I think the JVM has more usable EQ knobs, though. I found this amp likes the knobs really up high.

Then again it's based on a JCM/Superlead
A buddy of mine in Tampa has the 50w Ceriatone Superbass clone. I sold him my 1960ax cheap before I left town. He uses a nice LP and an OCD and that's it. Smokin' Allman Bros tone!

Nice!

This thing does the open Plexi thing kinda fine, too with the diode clipping off

But that's not what the amp's for anyways 😂

Understood but nice that you still have the option. So basically it's a hot rodded plexi with some bright switches and additional gain on tap? I've never scoped that model out on their site.

Pretty much

It's a JCM/Plexi with diode clipping, a 3 way bright switch on each gain knob, and a variable shunt to the back that lowers the gain and tightens the amp up if needed

Congrats. Great amp. I had a 50 watt Yeti for a while a few years ago. I’ve had two Ceriatone amps. A Yeti and a Molecular. Both were excellent.

What kind of guitars/cabs/speakers are you using with this? What do you mean by variable shunt to the back? Controls on back panel? I'm not very mod savvy.

There's a knob at the back called the "pussy trimmer", and basically it just controls the saturation. instead of being a fixed resistor like some Marshalls, I think

I just leave it dimed

Using it with my 1960AX (G12M EVH and Chinese G12M in X pattern) and a bunch of superstrats. Will try to take vids when I can

I deleted my post after I read your sig line with all your gear listed in it, lol.

Sounds like a pretty sweet machine, looking forward to some vids. Congrats again. Getting a NAD is something that happens for me every 12th of never so I'm sharing in your excitement to help fill the void in my life.

congrats! How does it compare the JVM?

They're rocking good amps.

I have 3 amps built by Nik & Team: JCM51 All Access with Heyboer iron, Chupacabra 50W and a King Kong 100W (supposedly channel 2 is a Yeti).
They are kick-a55 amps, very well built & pack a punch.
I also have a Molecular build made by a local amp builder.

Very nice

How do you find the stock iron against Heyboers? Or are those amps a bit too apples to oranges lol

Yeah they're voiced pretty differently but Ceriatone have vids for the JCM51 with stock and Heyboer iron on YouTube. The Heyboer seems more mid-voiced while the stock OT seems to have more high-end.
