NAD Gower Killer Kali++

I got an amp from Dan Gower last week and it is absolutely killer! It took about 4 months from Dan finding me an amp to completion, but it was worth every second of the wait.

The amp includes the Killer Kali base package with a few extra tone knobs ( mid shift switch, glass control, thump control).

I have had a lot of amps in my life and always feel like they're missing something after awhile. This is my first Marshall JCM 800, so I don't know if it's that combined with the mods, but I have never had an amp that feels this way. It feels professional and not like some boutique toy with a lot of features. It just sounds so big, tight and juicy that I can't stop playing or thinking about it. Now, this baby is frickin hot with the violence control on. I have it at 9 o'clock and I probably won't go much above that due to noise. All of the controls work really well and actually change the sound when I turn them. The sustain is just unreal too.

I also ordered a Driftwood Purple Nightmare earlier this year and will most likely sell it and have Dan build another amp for me with more options. The Gower made the Driftwood sound and feel like a toy when I compared them. I am just so happy with this amp that I need 2.

Dan is an AMAZING builder and has a great ear. He can also cut loose, guy can straight play!!! VIVA LA GOWER!! I desperately need another Gower. I had the Rockmonster and that thing cut it so strict!!

With the amp I got on eBay.uk, the mods and shipping it was around $2300.00. The mods I got were $1000.

Dan is a great dude.. knows 'that' tone inside and out.. very much a student of all those great modded marshall tones we dig.. and he's a great player as well.

As for his amps... love every single one Ive heard... loved mine. You can't go wrong.

Congrats! I’ve had in the past a Gower Killer Kali ++ and Rockmonster as well! Nice amps!

I also agree about the Driftwood Puprle Nightmare. I wasn’t impressed with it either and the Rockmonster I owned at the time blew it away along with others I had at the same time like the Wizard MC I had then

It's been a few years... but I had Dan outsource me a good year Marshall 2203 across the pond by him. He found one that looked clean and he recommended... we went with it and long story short.. probably the best sounding amp Ive had to date... a bit pricey with exchange rates, etc... but I wish I had that amp back. Dan is a class act through and through. We still chat here and there.. consider him a friend and his amps are truly fantastic machines.

I found an amp I liked on eBay.uk and sent money to Dan to buy it.

I connected with Dan earlier this year for a build. Told him I favored the JMP look. He sourced me a nice looking '76 Super Bass and finished my spec'd Kali build in under two months. Best amp I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Still own a BE100, 101B, and '82 2204. The 'Feel' knob, and mid voicing switch are my favorite features.

You can also look around guitar stores in the uk, like Andertons.
