The entire reason I developed my contour circuit was because of the sonic brutality of Folkesson’s Kee Marcello mod which sounds just gnarly. You can tell it’s punchy.

Yeah. I had stopped watching Ola's videos a long time ago. And I somehow caught this one. And when he stumbled onto that amp, I was surprised he didn't try to buy it right away. Thing is MASSIVE. Put it on the radar for me. And I am glad someoone linked it because I was just thinking of this video

Actually it was this specific video that made me contact Tommy in the first place! His 4 channel mod is supposed to be great!

By ’83, the circuit is basically the same as early vertical-input JCM800 2203s.
Transition Model: While 1981 is generally considered the start of the JCM800 line, some 1983 models retained the older cosmetic style. These amps are known for a brighter, more treble-boosted sound compared to earlier 70s models, which is excellent for humbuckers.
And yes these are highly sought after by collectors ( stock ones)
Normally i pass them by because of the lack og 16 ohm out. Theyre everywhere over here in scandinivia. :)

Really low volume like a hair below 1 - This is the Eternal Classic not Metal switched engaged - with the gain at 7
I am using my Kemper's Reverb - Delay about 30% mix

I finally listened to first clip on a good system and I would take that tone any day as is. That cut that some don't like sits in a mix perfectly once bass and drums come in. Also that in the room clip is amazing too. What a fucking beast of an amp!

It really is! The clips don’t do it justice. I get why some folks didn’t dig the two clips — I probably should’ve used a different IR, since this one really emphasizes the highs. Yeah, I like the in-the-room clip — though it would have worked better at a higher volume.
So far the safest conclusion I can draw is that this has way deeper low end than the 50-watt JMP I had. More clips soon — those metal switches take it to another level!

Head is a ‘79 but it doesn’t change how good it sounds.i can only imagine what it’s like in the room.
Actually looked closer at the serial and it might be an ‘80. L is at the end of ‘79 serial numbers. ‘79 is when they put the serial on the front like that. Did they keep the JMP cosmetic longer in Canada?
Yes. I had a 1982 JMP 2104. Same as a 1980 JMP here; but Canadian. Saw a 1978 Superlead with the metal toggles and laydown PT. Looked like a 1972-3 and was turret board, but a K serial. Northern Eu amps also kept the old designs for a few years after Britain/US changed to the 800 series.

My bad guys, I was phone typing fast - auto corrector ! It's a late 1983!

Another clip but this time I'm using my Gibson LPC 1996 emg 81 / metal switch 1 - bogner v30
