Terex , amp looks beautiful! Does the ENGL cab darken it a bit?

Thanks xiwiwix! It does actually darken it a bit. I tested the amp through a Zilla 4x12 with V30's, which sounded a little brighter. Also played it though a Laboga 4x12 with V30's, sounded a bit flatter then the Zilla. My Engl sounds the darkest of the three, but I like it! It has a nice equal sound to it, a little scooped maybe. No harsh highs, and no boomy bass, great cab! Definetely for the price I payd (225 euro)
It allowes we to turn the presence a little further open, which sounds great I think! Really compliments the Triple IMO!

Also, I mailed Mesa Boogie, waiting on a reply. Once I got one I'll post it here offcourse.

Thanks for all the help and compliments on the amp guys! ;)

Nice score man! That tolex appears to be in perfect shape. It must have been a bedroom amp, cuz it looks brand new!

It also looks like you have the old "coke bottle" Rectifier tubes. What 6L6s are you running?

What do you mean by Cokebottle rectifier tubes? Aren't they used anymore?

It's likely a '93. Triples and rev F's werent made until 93 I believe, not that it's a big deal though.

I've got to get me one of these. I will, eventually. I need an F triple blackface and an early racto blackface to finish off my collection.

Mesa Triple Rectifier RevF s# 72x
PT "561156" "606-232" 10/92
OT "562181 "606-233"
Choke 9/92

You're sure that's 561156 and not 561136 for the PT?

The pictures verify.. ?

Right now, the amp is in a spot that would take an hour of moving things back and forth to get too, so I can't look at it right now.
But look at the other number "606-232", isn't that an odd ball as well?

Pics I see just show the choke and the OT? Anyway, not a big deal either way. 2-channel Triples sound badass, whatever rev and whatever transformers they used.

I got a reactie for Mesa Boogie:

Hello Bas,

Yes, I would estimate your amp to be 1992-early 1993. They did not use the 100w MKIII transformer used in the early Dual Rectifier heads.

Please let me know if you've got any questions or need assistance in any way. Thanks!

blackface mesas look awesome!!

RJF are you still selling the rev c?

I was going to post some pics, but my photobucket account is dragging, so...

My pre-500 Blackface has the following serial number on the tranny, "561136" but it's an early dual, and my old triple had a different serial number, but I can't seem to find the pic at the moment.

My other blackface which is a little later, has a serial number of "561140", so that's different. As I remember, the "pre-500s" were the Rectifiers that got the Mark III tranny.

As for a standard Mark III, "561100", and this is a blue stripe, so it was a little later in the serial numbers.

As for the Coliseums, they use the same tranny as the Bass 400 line, and are absolute behemoths. I'm not even certain these things would fit in a Rectifier headshell, but they're "561180" for both my super-early Mark III Coliseum - No Stripe, and my Mark III Coliseum - Blue Stripe.
