After spending more time with the Recto vs. the MK III using my two cabs, I have to say, I really think the (oversize) rectifier cab needs a 5 band EQ & some volume to really sound its best. Playing both my Recto & the Diavlo through both cabs, the Mesa cab just sounds kind of flubby compared to the smaller V30 cab. Then, when I plug in the Mark III & work the GEQ the Mesa cab really starts kicking ass as you give it more volume.
That said I'm working on selling most of this gear to fund a JP-2C because f*** it. I like new gear. If I wasn't though, I'd have to try a GEQ in the loop of both those other amps now.
