Picked up this Ceriatone Chupacabra from a very good buddy of mine(Magh8). He has been talking about this amp for years and he finally decided to sell it, so he hit me up first. I said “fuck yes I’ll take it” :D

I instantly found a great tone and ran with it. Then I retubed it with Gold Lion KT77’s and some pres I like. Turned it into a monster. Absolutely amazed at how good this amp sounds. For the price it’s really hard to beat. This is also the first amp I’ve owned that you can adjust the bias on each individual tube (why don’t all amp makers do this?). Pretty kick ass feature.

I’ve heard these are point to point and the build quality is sweet. Haven’t taken it out of the shell to see that yet. Maybe later. Right now I’m having too much fun playing it. Fuck I don’t know I’m buzzed, maybe they aren’t.

Here is a sample of it. Using a Les Paul and a Creamback 75 cab.

That sounds pretty damn good!!

Well that answers that then   Awesome man! I offered a trade for one a short while back but never herd back from the guy. Don't think he was after what I had to offer :( The Chuppa is still high on my radar

When I think “modded Marshall,” that’s the sound I hear in my head. Nice. And, good lord, your right hand is super-human tight.

Good stuff!

What's the pussy trimmer knob on the back do? Extra gain... or more saturation/compression?

Thanks bro! Uhhh, I don’t have the pussy knob. Maybe this is an older model?

I think it's a variable NFB.

It isn’t. On your typical Marshal circuit you have a 470k/470pf parallel and 470k to ground. The pot replaces the 470k to ground. It’s literaly a 3rd gain control on a single channel which is quite overkill. Apparently the story is that for the James Lugo Amp shootout, people that compared either the Chips or Yeti to some Cameron’s and Cameron on-site him self commented the amp had too much gain and lore has it that Nick installed it because of this. Making a switcheable cathode bypass circuit on the second gain stage would have been much more practical. But hey, if 2 gain controls aren’t enough make a 3rd and rename it. :D

 lol
Now seriously. These amps are no joke I put this amp up against a BE100 and preferred the chupacabra hands down... the only reason I sold the amp is because my living situation and desire to even play has changed dramatically... I have been sitting on this amp as well as all my other gear for about 2 years now. Thinning out and probably will end up with a powered Kemper in the end but if I decide to stay with tube I will not hesitate to get another chupacabra or a king kong(buddy of mine owns one killer amp as well)...
take care of my baby Tom.....

 Always great tones when Nik stuff is played, badass playing mate!

Had the same reaction comparing my Yeti and a Splawn QR (which is a great amp nontheeless).

Cool!

I'm building one myself atm. Here's how far I am

Good lord that sounded fucking badass! Great picking and playing dude! :salute:

I've had creamback 75 gas for sometime now but damn I think you just managed to seal the deal for me (currently running v30s). Also what pickups are in your Les Paul?
