Ladies, gents - the Fortin Evil Pumpkin "MultiLoad" NAM pack

View attachment 447738

Limited to 100 units, the “Evil Pumpkin” is the culmination of many years of collaboration between Mike Fortin and Jason “Killertone” Frankhouser.

ℹ️ “MultiLoad” - what’s this about?

The cabinet (or load) a tube amplifier interacts with has a considerable impact on the tone & feel.
For this pack, I used 2 iconic cabinets and reamped all AMP and POW settings with each cab.

ℹ️ Summary

The pack features a Fortin Evil Pumpkin amp captured using 2 iconic cabinets loading down the amplifier.

You’re the man. I put out a NAM video today and gave you a shout out.

If I’m pointing people in the direction of the best NAM profiles, especially folks that haven’t used NAM yet, there is no better resource than your tone3000 contributions and your YouTube channel.

You should see it in your YT mentions. Thanks for all your work putting out the highest level profiles of some of the best gear out there!

Thank you for the shout-out! Am happy you like the tones.

There are some other very good creators in the community which have solid stuff; takes s bit of diving nowadays to find the stuff you resonate with since Tone3000 really took off.

Did you recognize that modded JCM 800? Haha. I use the gained up capture all the time, but that was the first time I used one of the cleanish-crunchy captures for cleans, and I was blown away how good it was for that.

I actually did a couple clips with your VH4 and Super Hi captures, but I wasn’t happy with my playing.

Loved thrash and Death Metal when I was younger, but since I don’t practice playing it anymore, my old dude Metal is less than LOL.

And, I have played fingerstyle without a pick for the last 15 years. I can do a fake gallop rhythm with my index finger, but it’s limited. If I do grab a pick, my alternate picking is non-existent now LOL.

That modified 2203 cleans up pretty darn nice if I may add - it's an amp you can stick in any mix and make it work.

Chugging does need a bit of muscle memory refresh if you're away from it for a while. FWIW, I get rusty even if I don't play that stuff for a week etc so I wouldn't be worried if I was in your place.

Gallop with the index finger sounds like a jam haha - fingering is always a good skill to have (pardon the juvenile humor) :ROFLMAO:

I dig all of your stuff that I've checked out so far @2dor. Once I get my rig all set up, I'll pull the trigger on a few of your paid packs.

Thank you very much.

I've a few more packs I want to do & with a few potential surprise / heavy-hitter amps that I'm sure folks will love.

Atm, I'm slowly starting to put together the plan for my 1980 Marshall JMP 2204 pack. Amp's got the original Drake iron &, aside from the bias caps & filter caps, is in original shape.
Want to give it the "MultiLoad" treatment through my Marshall 1960BV cab with the Celestion G12 Vintage speakers and a 2x12 2104 open-back cab with G12-65 speakers.
It's an amp I wanted to do for a good while now & I've a Mr. Scary mod to throw in there too.

man i hope the new helix gets a community of people doing clones for it the way NAM does. Your captures are great, wish the hardware for NAM would catch up...

Fractal's next-gen units will have NAM support & Line6 (through Eric) haven't ruled out bringing NAM support to the Stadium product line so the future holds some promise 🤞

Hahaha. I have a few “fake pick” techniques I kind of made up as I went along. I like being able to really control the dynamics of the attack on the transient, particularly to have a really low inaudible attack to get that really fluid sound.

But sometimes ya need an SRV string rake>bend LOL. Had to make a finger cheat to mimic a pick sound for that and other stuff.

Thank you very much.

A Marshall through G12-65s really speaks to me. I can't wait !

JMP 2204's now "on the bench".

The plan is to give this the "MultiLoad" treatment with these 2 cabs:

- Marshall 4x12 1960BV with Marshall Celestion G12 Vintage speakers (WIP atm)

- Marshall 2x12 open-back 2104 with Marshall Celestion G12-65 speakers

Mr. Scary mod's also ready for duty 🔥

I wish that you also had a matching 1980 JCM800 4x12 with G12-65s to profile. 😉

Yeah though I'd take a Greenback 25 loaded 4x12 Basket Weave Straight over it with this lineup.

I wish I had a 1981 2203 to go with that cab you called out though; and a MOAB+ on the bench haha.

Recently bought another one of your NAM packs... I'm addicted haha.

I was wondering what I would set the calibration level to for my setup? I have a Scarlett Solo which says 12dBu Maximum Input Level (at minimum gain). I noticed in your videos you were using a number like 13.195? Is that because you're using a different interface? I believe I should be using 12.0?

I had one other question about your gear... The St.Rock React:IR II -> I'm thinking about getting one to use a few stereo effects pedals with my NAM setup. I was wondering if I could wire the single SEND to my stereo reverb, then wire each L and R channels back to the return to get a stereo effect? It isn't quite clear in the manual at what level the SEND is... I'm afraid it might be too hot for the pedals?

Thanks in advance! Can't wait for the next pack

Thank you.
You can type in your own dBu value (12).

I used 13.195 because I use a RME FIREFACE UCX II interface & I measured the input headroom with a multimeter etc.

I'm not sure of the SEND level on the React:IR2 since I mostly use it as a glorified DI box nowadays with an amp and cab plugged into it. That said, it's the only loadbox I stopped on after having tried quite a few in the last few years.

What's the deal with A2 profiles and are your past profiles compliant?! Excited to see this progress (and the StompStation is compliant with A2 as well with a firmware update!!!)

A2 is basically a next-gen NAM update. Think of it as NAM 2.0.

A2 essentially uses redesigned tech to train the profiles; the reamping / recoring part's unchanged etc.

There's also a new plugin which is now called "GATEWAY" (gateway to NAM) which is required to play A2 profies:

https://www.neuralampmodeler.com/users

GATEWAY works fine with both A1 (older) and A2 (new) profile types; so just grab GATEWAY and off you go.

Tone3000 has taken on the burden of retraining all profiles which are hosted on their platform to the new A2 standard.

Most of the stuff I've uploaded on Tone3000 in the "community packs" is now retrained to A2 so you can grab and test them right now.
Some profiles are still pending retraining due to the huge backlog of profiles Tone3000's processing but they'll all be there eventually.

With A2, I'm looking to get all my existing Ko-Fi packs updated to include the A2 version of all profiles as well alongside what was already there; it'll be a free update essentially to existing supporters once they're done.

All my Tone3000 packs are now retrained to NAM A2 using the original .WAV files.

This means no "Convert" or shortened data used for training - they're the real deal.

This includes all "Community packs".

I also took the opportunity to normalize the reamp files so that the profiles are overall louder & have tweaked the names of the older Tone3000 profiles to fit my overall naming convention / style.

The full packs from Ko-Fi will also be updated to include A2 (in addition to the existing A1 and Custom arch. profiles) but I'm currently trying to determine the best way to go about it. In any case, I'll post back as / once they're done.

🥳 Celebrating Neural Amp Modeler's 🅰️2️⃣ milestone!

It's my pleasure to present a 1980 Marshall JMP 2204. With the original Drake transformers, stock circuit, recapped, re-tubed (Mullard XF2 EL34) this thing is full of mojo.

✅ NAM A2 - all profiles trained with A2 from original audio
✅ 2 iconic guitar cabs used as loads (no reactive load):
🟣 Marshall 4x12 1960BV (Marshall G12 Vintage speakers)
🟣 Mesa 2x12 2104 (Marshall T3054 EM4 vented speakers)
🔥Legendary Tones "Mr. Scary" mod profiles included
✅ All profiles calibrated
✅ DI and MIC-ed up flavors for each profile
✅ Custom, extended anti-aliasing signal used for reamping
✅ High-fidelity, low-noise, linear signal chain for reamping
✅ Stompbox / OD profiles included

💥 16 ohm amp into 4 ohm cabinet? 💥

Yeah - I did that too. The amp survived! 🤘
After reamping everything with the Marshall 4x12 1960BV I realized I had the speaker cable coming from the amp into the 4 ohm input of the cabinet. I decided to include these profiles as they have a different feel & sound.
Look for the profiles with "Msm4x12" in the title.
