+1. Plus the genre of instrumental albums is played out. His style is flat and something I have heard a million times before.

It’s ok not to like something, but a video with a guy shredding while dancing in sync with backup dancers doesnt seem played out: definitely not something i recall seeing before, at least to the extent in the video. And something ironic about a forum pretty much dedicated to ‘80s-style metal complaining that something is played out.

I’m personally not his biggest fan; I don’t urge to buy any of his music, but I do like his general style. He looks like he’s actually having fun! Crazy to think that guitar driven music doesn’t have to try to be angry and tough-guy all the time.

That's a fair point and you are right, that is the first backstreet boy I see ripping leads. What I mean though, is the licks, tone, and feel is played out. It isn't exactly an original style like say Vinnie Moor or Nuno etc.. those guys have their own sound. His sound is more of a wash of things. What I think personally is that all the great "styles" and "signatures" of players have mostly been done. Anyone now has a tough path to cut for him/herself and that is why more of these type of players shine by also having well written songs and a good vocalist that allows their playing to stand out.

It also sounds like a Suhr PT-50 with a direct out option is on the way. Something like a Reactive Load and an ACE incorporated into the amp would make sense.

Any updates on this? I need to try a 100W and 50W. Kinda hyped on this and a current popular 50W...

Don't quote me on it, but John and Pete have been kind of hinting about something that's coming out to compete with lunchbox digital amps. Pete's a big fan of the Reactive Load and IR's...so something like this would make sense.

Hopefully both. John loves DC Juniors, so it'd be awesome to see both Singlecut and DC slab Junior style guitars in the Pro series, and archtop models as custom orders.

Also, with the Suhr Aldrich amp rumored to be coming out, it'd be killer to see Doug start using these.
