Watching a lot of these vid's really makes you realize how important a good singer is. Almost all of them start out with cool riffs and the band is tight but all the bands I had never heard of or new had a brief moment all had horrible singers. Even Tesla who had a decent level of success would have been huge with a better singer. They had great songs and tones but I never could take the sand paper, super elf they had for a lead singer. Note to any local bands out there now. If you can't find a singer don't let the guitar player or bass player do it! Keep looking!!

I don't believe anyone mentioned Icon, from Phoenix, Arizona. They were one of my favorite bands in the 80s.
Icon - Icon (debut album in 1984)
Icon - Night of the Crime (1987)
Icon - Right Between The Eyes (1989)
Anything with Doug Aldrich. Lion, Hurricane (Slave to the Thrill), House of Lords (Sahara), Band Moon Rising, Burning Rain.
Blue Murder with John Sykes. Cry Wolf on the album Crunch from 1990. Giant with Dann Huff!!! Rought Cutt with Amir Derakh. The Scream with Bruce Bouillet. The Riverdogs with Vivian Campbell from 1990. Richie Kotzen on Poison's Native Tongue. Zakk Wylde on the Steel Dragon songs from the movie Rock Star.
Also for some great old school 80s hard rock check out any of the Keel albums from that era.
