Clips are awesome. I run an overdrive pedal on all my high gain amps to tighten up the low end and get a mid spike. Have you tried running one? Does the high gain channel even need one? The only amps I felt didn't need one were Engl amps.

I'd say no on this. I don't really do chugga chugging riffage, but it's tight enough it's own. I do like the KoKo Boost, mid boost, at lower gain settings to boost the high mids a bit more to get it into more Marshall-ish tones.

I didn't notice a volume drop or less punch. It's a heck of a lot more transparent than my Bogner TJs loop was. I actually haven't tried a/bing the loop on and off with no effects. I've only run it with a few TC pedals and a hardwire delay, no rack mount effects.

When I play it in a room through my oversized Mesa 412, it literally sounds like two amps are running stereo at once. The low end is very 2-channel recto while the top end reminds me of like a JVM or something like that. Its super interesting.
