that's 2 4x12's now...wish it was the one with k100's but oh well. once I get everything hooked up hopefully I will get some decent tones out of that ART unit in the tverb's loop. I have to order cables now. can't find my stash anywhere.

Those are super underrated cabs…same construction as the TV cabs with different appointments. Those V30s are closer to 65s than a regular V30 imo..darker like the Mesa OEM.

I had a quad of those V30MF (aka Avatar 60L) at the same time as the 65s. Sure both had a smooth top end but that's where the similarities ended. The V30MF still has those V30 prominent upper mids, albeit shifted down a bit. A great speaker but overall, far away from any 65 to my ears.

I think it just varies on the type of 65(40 different cone codes?). I had a 1983 cab with the darker 65s than my 3120s, right next to the MF cab and they were more similar than different when I played them back to back. My 1988 cab with the 8 ohm vintages also sounds similar to my 3120 cab; almost like mixing a Mesa V30 with a 65.
