new GnR!

I mean, even the best rock singers end up not being able to sing some of their old stuff eventually. Beating the shit out of your vocal chords night in and night out seems to take its toll over time. There are some exceptions of course. Just imho

This is going to make people mad but whatever.....

All of these old, fading/faded stars putting out new music is just terrible. Motley Crue, GnR, etc.

I wish they would just move on instead of doing whatever this is.

People actually paying to hear any of this live is just based off of pure nostalgia for something that has been long lost.

Leave it behind and move forward.

We’re basically undergoing the long-term results of file sharing and the massive sea change it created in the industry. The explosion of Social media has turned it up 10 fold.
People don’t want to admit it but the industry system worked for us as listeners. Artist were getting screwed but they’re still getting screwed now as artists always do, so the sea change we had, only shifted money into different kinds of overlords like Spotify. Never to the artist.
As listeners we now just wallow in endless swirling “content”.

The songwriting seemed better when they were all on smack.

Axl blew his voice out giving Angus Young the most ferocious vocals Axl had done since he was young . After the AC/DC world tour the full on Nicky mouse voice started . But I def agree with you . Just wanted to add what I saw with Axl specifically

This is not new GNR. This old cutting room floor Chinese Democracy scraps packaged up to make people think that it’s new GNR. This shit is nearly 20 years old.
It’s like the DLR/VH album that’s basically old riffs and ideas that Ed had kickin’ around for decades, just worked up into songs.

So . Songs are songs . Shit gets reworked for years sometimes . Is the song good ? That’s all that matters . And then that’s just opions . Like the firrst 4 VH albums are over half written like 77-78. What if Ed said I’m not using that stuff because it’s older stuff ? We don’t get so many classics . Idk just my perspective on this topic

That makes so much sense, Thanks for posting that

Here is the best Axl performance I have probably heard in my lifetime. I've never forgotten this:

Nothin' has some if the blandest and simple lyrics I've ever heard and this is from the lyrical genius who penned amazing stuff like Coma and Estranged.

Both songs are devoid of anything resembling a memorable hook or riff unfortunately, just like the other "new" GNR stuff.

OK song - great solo

Didn't hate it but also certainly can't see myself listening to this regularly

I just listened to it a bit again. Those keyboards sound like Childish Gambino or a commercial for VRBO or something....
I was getting "These eyes" by the Guess Who vibes. And then the random clean riff after the solo sounds like the Yellow Ledbetter riff.
