New music you've been waiting for...

I actually preferred it to anything rsm has posted from Polyphia in the past. I kind of get it now. I don't care for it, but per discussions with our OP I understand why he enjoys it. It's forward thinking rather than a rehash of previous metal. Hope you and your family are well!

the raspy bass on these songs is too much for me; makes it hard to listen. reminds me of the outdoor keg parties back in the day with an old boom box pushed beyond its limits into a distorted mess that ruins everything it plays

Their best song is what Tim plays in that Archetype promo haha

And I don’t hate the “just because”. I find that GOAT and Playing God alright. At least technically fun.

Tim's androgyny is polarizing like their music

but the music isn't as immediately approachable for many. it takes me a few listens to "get into it" , and I actually like and appreciate their music.

edit: I like the white Ibanez Xiphos Scotty is playing too...

Upside down Ibanez headstocks are badass. Next to Gibson and Fender styles I think Ibanez has always had one of the sweetest 'stocks.

I prefer the reverse headstocks with six-inline tuners. I have reverse headstocks on my Jackson Rhoads
On the fly tuning is easier with an upside down headstock. All my strats were equipped with one for that reason. Plus they look cool.

This blew out my phone's speakers and the volume is down way low.

Also, these guys dont believe in holding a note for more than .5 seconds.

that raspy distorted , "pushed beyond speaker limit" bass gets old fast; but looking at the song titles it seems this is their first "concept album" .

I plan to find a time to give it a full-attention listen vs in the background. I know they get the hate, but I find what they do interesting and refreshing...I have the Neural DSP Archetype Tim Henson, and it's fun....FWIW I also have the Petrucci and Plini archetype plugins too.

Seeing them live here a few years ago with my son was a blast too.

Tim looks like a different person today than in this photo. It's weird.

Don't you mean it take a few drops of acid or a field trip to a cow pasture for some yummy mushrooms before a spin of this stuff???

I think I would then indeed enjoy it as well...:D
