Just got a Kemper to go along with my existing Axe-Fx II. Have a XiTone powered wedge sitting on top and a Matrix GT 1000 in the rack as well to use with a cab. I can plug my iPhone into one of the returns and jam along and practice with either headphones or through the XiTone. Amazing little setup. Only had the Kemper a short time but gotta give it the edge over my Axe. For amp tones anyway. Think I like the fx on the Axe Fx better though.

Whoa, can your rig help me with my calculuous homework, too? Joking; looks awesome! Would love to tinker with a Kemper and FRFR speakers.

Kemper is so much easier to quickly dial in only using bass mid and treble. That was the first thing I noticed when I made the switch from axe fx 2.

I'm noticing the exact same thing. Don't get me wrong I love my Axe too and feel very blessed to have both but the Kemper does seem easier to dial in a tone. But so far I can't gel with either for live gigging yet. Granted I haven't tried real hard but my experience so far with both is that I prefer to muse them at home for practice and for my personal recording use. I know they can both sound fantastic live cause I've heard them used that way so I know it's user error. I'm just not much of a tweaker. I guess. I've tried direct to FOH, FRFR and using the Matrix with my Recto 2x12 cab but both still sound like modelers to me.

Damn, a Kemper and an Axe together and the world didn't explode. :dunno:

That looks like a fun rig.

That's quiet the home rig.....

Any preference of the Axe FX vs. the Kemper?

For ease of use in dialing in a usable tone quickly and a true amp in the room sound I gotta give the slight edge to the Kemper. For pure fx quality gotta give the edge to the Axe. Honestly been spending more time with the Fractal FX8 and my Stealth than either of the other two. I guess I'm just a tube guy at heart but I love the the technology, tones and options that Kemper and Fractal offer.

A good tube head on a 4x12 curbstomps a modeler 9 times out of 10 if the modeler is in the PA or with FRFR. If the modeler is on a tube poweramp on a 4x12 then it's a bit closer. All IMHO.

Ya, I might need to give a tube power amp a try instead of the Matrix. I was trying to get away from a heavy power amp though but maybe it's just not possible.

Nice rig. Do you think the XiTone could hold up against the drummer? Say for practice or small gigs with no pa? Thanks in advance
