Sounds great. I really like the mid bump. How is the touch sensitivity?

Hey Dave,

Thanks man! The touch sensitivity is very cool.. it really reacts to individual playing style. I can get a lot of dynamics just by picking softer or harder, without even touching my guitars controls. It cleans up to a nice round bluesy clean, with the guitars volume set low and on the neck pickup.

Its funny because this is the first time i have had an amp that feels super easy to play, yet it retains a ton of dynamics and touch sensitivity. Usually its either one thing or the other.. either touch sensitive and unforgiving, or easy to play but lacking dynamics. But this seems to get the best of both worlds!

This is a killer amp...i've heard this amp through it's various stages of development with the mod..me and dan speak on the phone quite a bit and he's been very excited with this project!!..and it's turned out superb..

infact im sending dan a marshall in the next couple of weeks for him to mod..

Gonna be awesome!!...

Sounds killer!

Damn, I was just in the UK for a couple weeks, that would have been cool to hear in person.

That sounds great Dan, maybe I should hire you to do some tweaking on the JMP before you send it to me. You

What you said about about dynamics and feel very much has my interest. Some amps are better about this. But I know what you mean.

My Father fixed amps when I was kid on the side. I have thought many times about building one from a kit or ground up then voice / mod it to my taste. It would be a good thing to do to spend more time around Dad. If I get around to it everyone knows I well be asking a few Q.
The people around here kick ass. :)

Yeah the dynamics are very important IMO, if the amp isnt touch responsive enough, then it removes a lot of the expression and emotion in your playing and tone.. But Its gotta have a musical smooth top end, or all the emotion/dynamics go straight out the window. Im not talking super smooth, but there is a big difference between a bright top end and a ragged top end. Getting it just right is the important part so it sounds 'musical'.

Good idea on the kit build, im sure you would gain a lot of experience building one!

Sounds great Dan, I bet that thing would shave heads in a live context. Very cool of Mike to lend some input on that beast  What were you playing through it at the time? And pups?

Thanks J!!

It cuts like a knife in a band situation.. Everytime i tweaked a component or tried a new idea with the circuit, i tested it out with my band to make sure it was cutting just right in the mix. The cool thing is that it doesn't need to be cranked to sound right.. If you do crank it, yes it sounds huge! But it sounds really good at low volumes too, which is something i needed! Cant always be cranking it in every situation, so a good Master volume really helps :)

Dan that sounds killer!

And Mike is a totally badass dude! I can't wait to unleash the amp he building for me! it's going to be just too godamn crazy for words!
