someone has to say it.... dig around in your pedal pile, you probably already have the best Marshall mod available.

I played my JCM800 for over 15 years by then but some 25 years ago I got a TSL100 and after a couple of years sold the JCM800. The TSL has the 800 mode, which is absolutely spot on. I kept comparing them directly side by side, and there was just no reason to keep the 800. Present day I still have and play the TSL. Great amp.

If I were going for that 800 thing or the "modded" version that Marshall did (which some of the switches and functions are moronic IMO) I'd opt for the Ground Zero Hellion, or just get a JVM 210 or 410.

Yeah. If you are looking for a stock 2204 citcuit that is made with a ton better quality parts and all turret board, look at granville amps.

Off topic a bit, but I have a heavily modified 2203x that I would like brought back to stock. Could I have one of these turret boards installed instead of having to reverse all the mods to the PCB? Seems like that may be a lot easier.

That isnt the approach i would go with. But i would email the Granville guy and ask him what he thinks. He has some sexy shit going

If the OP wants truly modded JCM800 Marshall tones, then the Splawn Quickrod or a Ground Zero Moab modded Marshall would fit the bill which have alot more gain than the MGL.

That all depends on which MGL amp you're referring to

Having played the modified series, even stock ones would be a better option lmao

Interesting ! Could you please expand a bit on that ?
They didn’t sound as good as the stock ones, and didn’t get anywhere in the ballpark of the numerous modded Marshalls that are already on the market.

Now If we are talking high gain modded Marshall, I offer Enmity which is actually more comparable to MOAB+ in features but voiced way differently, and Abaddon, which is my own flagship high gain modded Marshall offering.
