New Whitesnake

Great playing. Lame song. Whitesnake never followed up 1987. Then again, that album was 90% Sykes, 10% Coverdale.

It's a Mötley Crüe cock-rock revival.

"Tongue-tied and twisted"? C'mon Davo, you can do better than that after all these years.

Guitar playing and tones were excellent, as one would expect.

It'll fit right in with the rest of my '80s cock-rock-video collection, which I'm always happy to add to. Sometimes you just need that vibe to pass the wee hours away. Put a couple o' hundred videos on random play and kick back...

Again, I LOVE that solo! He's always been good and kept things up...but I thought that he was a little less over the top sometimes and here he just has that energy again. Don't take for granted his tapping technique....that shit is hard to make sound right and so fluid.

Sounds like a song any band could have made. Nothing special, nothing that lasts after the song is finished.
Fixed that for ya.

Typical song components, I listened without watching the video as I prefer to focus on the music when I have a listen. It was so "predictable" and just really "contrived been there done that before" sounding to me. Great talent, good group of guys, David's a super nice dude, for 68 or whatever he is now he's still doing what he loves, and the rest of the band is having fun. I guess if that's what they wanted to do - good for them. But it's not groundbreaking, and interestingly enough, it didn't even *really* sound like Whitesnake to me.

But hey, they're making vids and selling units while we're here typing on keyboards.

I can't believe no one has commented on that shit vocal mix. The entire vocal track sounds like it was lifted from a demo and dropped onto a different version of the song, or vice versa. One listen was enough for me.

I think the song just sounded kind of thin, vocals were hard to listen to. It's ashamed because I like them a lot and really like Reb Beach and he did a god solo there too. I hate to say it, but it reminded me of those late year bandwagon hair bands making subpar songs right before grunge hit. With all the talent in that band, it's a little disappointing.

I think this is the defining comment for me. At least George Lynch's projects and new band all around sounds killer:

I didn't think it was all that bad but this kind of music needs to just stay in the 80's already.

It isn't the best Whitesnake ever but it isn't the worst. I'll admit Coverdale looks rough.

Funny to me though how those who can't like to pile on and nitpick those who can and still do.

Not hooked the way I am on some of their other tunes. Kinda generic but good for them to still kick it out and try to keep the torch burning.

Quality of the hotties (sic) in the video is accurate for Reno. Hotties in Reno--oxymoron.
:aww:

I liked it better than the last two releases that he did with Doug. Those were too old school and rather boring. I thought that the best songs that they have put out since they started up again were the initial 4 song extras to the live recording in 05-06. But, this is at least a return to the 80's sound that made them $. I don't know if there is an Adult Contemporary station that will play it though. David isn't bad, but his voice is so strained in that upper register. He still brings it live on Is This Love (though I can't stand the song), it's just that is where his range is.

The video chicks were underwhelming. If you're going to hang out near or slide around on a car in a Hair Metal video, and you're not 1980's Tawny Kitaen, GTFO

It looks like they're still having fun, and tour the world.
More power to them

I'd love to look that rough in 27 years at 67...LOL

This is a return to WS 87 era stuff...s'alright, I'll buy the CD

If you and me had his money and resources we could indeed look that rough at 67 . I'm not hearing a John Sykes `87 era vibe but that's just me

The song is ok. I was mainly commenting on the fact that the guitars sounded good again. While I love Doug’s playing, his recorded Whitesnake tones have not been that great. They sounded bloated and almost muddy. The guitar tones on this song sound much better in my opinion.

Yeah as much as the song didn't do much for me, I gotta agree with you on that one and I'm a big Doug Aldrich fan. His tones didn't stand out as much as you would expect on those past ones.

Ok, I listened again and not as bad this time. I kept an open mind and listened more than looked. :)

Besides the solo, that was cheesy as hell. At least that white jaguar finally got some actual tits on it ?

It's Whitesnake! It's supposed to be cheesy.
