Awesome Scott!! Congrats as I knew this day was coming. The guitar looks awesome! The spalted maple looks killer. How does she play and sound? Can't wait for some clips as you are a great player! Too bad she has to go back for some adjustments but ultimately you need to get what you want and be happy.

I think ripping the pickups out and putting them into a different brand new guitar that has a nicer top and much nicer headstock ( ) is a little bit more than having "some adjustments" done.

And their 'wrong' headstock looks way better too.

What's the point of getting a locking trem with no locking nut?
And Locking tuners I find dont really do shit

You paid to have it done to your specs. That's one big reason why people go to Carvin.
If it was mine and I didn't like it, back it would go. I have to admit though that spalt is stellar.
I have a DC747c with locking tuners and a trem and it stays in tune very well.

I'm on your side...the headstock you wanted is the one I'd go with as well. Shawn said it best...that inline headstock is one of the worst ever and kept me from ordering a Carvin for the longest time!

BUT

Passing up on that piece of spalted maple is a damn sin!

Yep, locking tuners to the job just fine for me (just like the 2 other people who have posted in this thread saying the same thing).
