The best for me definately was 3 yrs ago, I'm a huge zakk/bls fan and I went to see them at the rams head in Baltimore and I always wanted to meet zakk. So me and my wife, son and brother waited outside for him to walk inside and he stopped and signed some autographs for us and took some pictures. Then zakk gave us all backstage passes and said the best place for us to watch the show was onstage and he wanted to make sure my 9yr at the time would have a good veiw and be able to see. Inbetween songs the zakk kept giving us guitar picks, I also got the backplate signed on one of my zakk lp.
All the guys in the band was cool and zakk was really awsome, as a longtime fan it was a special night for me an my family. My son still talks about how cool it. Zakk gave him the mic and let him talk to the crowd too.
That's a cool story. Your son will never forget that.

For arena bands/shows I'd say...

Roger Waters - Pros & Cons w/Clapton on guitar - Montreal Forum 1984
Floyd - 1st tour w/out Roger (forget the album) - Montreal Forum 1986 or 1987
Rush - Take your pick

For small venues/clubs I'd say...

Marillion - Season's End - Montreal Spectrum & Paradise in Boston - 1990
Karnivool - Sound Awake - Bourbon Street in Baltimore - 3 days ago

Rush - Take your pick  yup....
Marillion - Season's End - Montreal Spectrum & Paradise in Boston - 1990 would have loved to see Marillion during that tour.

easy....

Black Sabbath & Pantera in Dallas at reunion arena.... both bands tore the fuck out of that place.

second place?

Last Saturday: Megadeth, Testament, & Exodus - fucking unbelievable show.
I am pretty sure my new "Best concert" is going to be in August when Slayer, Megadeth, Testament come to Detroit!
Saw Slayer last summer. The guitar tone was almost unbearable. They are one of my favorite bands but they truly sucked last time I saw them.

a hard decision for me....my initial thought was Venom/Slayer/Exodus 1985 @ Aragon Ballroom/Chgo... or Metallica - Ride The Lightning 1985 @ Aragon Ballroom/Chgo.....................but i was absolutely BLOWN AWAY back in 2007 when i got to see Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath w/Dio) @ Allstate Arena/Chgo...that show was pure MAGIC

man,i f**kin' LOVE Metal

Hmmmm I've seen a lot of shows but the top two have got to be:

Queensryche on the Livecrime tour
Pink Floyd on the Division Bell tour (only time I've ever seen Floyd)

I've seen Queensryche a bunch of times and they always put on a great show. Heaven and Hell gets an honorable mention as I've seen them twice and they were fantastic both times.

Great show. Great set list. I also saw them on the Misplaced Childhood tour opening up for Rush at the Montreal Forum on 3/4/1968 (my 18th birthday). That was pretty memorable too.

A few stand out.

Bonamassa last year. I took my 9 year old to his first show, he was in awe the entire 2 hrs (as was I).

Priest, Heaven and Hell, Motorhead and Testament summer of 08' in Pittsburgh. I took my oldest son who was 15 at the time, just thinking about watching Sabbath and Priest with him still gives me chills.

Megadeth, Sanctuary, Warlock in 87'
Ozzy, Metallica (MOP) 86'
Agent Steel at my folks bar in 03'
Slayer, Overkill, Motorhead 87'
Skeletonwitch 09'

Agent Steel, kick ass!!! i saw them in 2003 playing a "live" show out of a small record store in Phoenix,Arizona...a great, memorable show as i loved that band back in the mid 80's,yet never got to see them "live" :aww: :)

 EVIL EYE/EVIL MINDS

Iron Maiden
July 5th 1985 last date on the powerslave tour. irvine meadows calif.
Dave Murray played the star spangled banner for his solo, at the end nicko jumped over his set and hit every pedal and was using the wah pedal while dave kept playing. awesome for a die hard maiden fan like myself.

The US festival in 1983. Great bands and just the shock value. I was 13 and too see these bands I loved play on a big stage like that. The vibe you get from 300 thousand fans and the bands kicking ass. It was loud as shit. Van Halen, Scorpions, Triump, Priest, Ozzy, Crue, QR, I was a big fan of all the bands. Van Halen my fav and also the very first time seeing them live.

p.s. I forgot to mention the free show of various sizes and shapes of beautiful lady lumps on display. That was also my first time seeing teets up close and all around me.

Hard for me to pick between two:

Prince in 2001

In 1992 I saw Kings X in a club in Nashville with the Galactic Cowboys opening.

I saw Rage Against The Machine downtown Minneapolis a couple years ago during the Republican National Convention. There were riot police everywhere on the streets before and after the show. The concert was amazing! One of the most high energy performances I've ever seen!

Zach finished the show with a good speech basically saying to take the high road and not to start any trouble outside. When we left the show the cops were being total douches and beating people down for no reason. They had hundreds of us sit on one side of first ave while they pointed guns at us with rubber ammo.

One poor guy who wasn't even at the show was trying to ride his bike across the street to get home and he got taken down and arrested. Crazy stuff. Noone was trying to cause any trouble, but because the cops were expecting us to, they basically almost started a riot.
Earlier that day Morello tried playing a free show at the capital but they cut the power so did a song a cappella!

Been to many cool shows, but that one was the craziest experience ever! Tool in '98 or AIC last year wins for best music peerformance for me.

1. Queensryche...Promised Land tour. Impossible to explain, but an awesome audio/video experience.
2. KISS August 16,1977 Cow Palace S.F.....the day Elvis died, I was never the same after seeing this show!

Too hard to chose one... my two best are;

'76 in Zurich- Pink Floyd on the Animals tour.
They played Animals and WYWH start to finish. Time and Money were the encores and the flying pig was introduced.

'85 at the Cow Palace- Iron Maiden on the Powerslave tour.
Pretty much Maiden at their pinnacle IMO.
Add the 12' robotic Eddie and moving light trusses and it was awesome!
The only downside of this was that Twisted Sister was the opener.

Toss up between:

Whitesnake with Steve Vai.
Kiss on their reunion tour.

I know I've read on here people dogging that version of WS, but when Vai is playing solo section that was worth the price of admission right there. Wish I had a video of that performance. It was also one of the best sounding concerts ever.

Never seeing the original Kiss and being a huge Ace fan that was increditable.

No question... AC/DC Barcelona '09.

Apart from that... Black Sabbath, Muse, The Hives, Iron Maiden, and some others at Roskilde Festival.

There have been a a few I can think of but the first one that always comes to mind is TOOL in 2001 at the palace of aubrun hills when lateralus just came out. That show was so great I haven't missed a TOOL show since then, locally of course. I still haven't seen a band who sounds better live

Hard to pick! I've seen 3 concerts that really stick out - 1. Dio on the Last In Line tour, Vivian Campbell was on fire and his tone was incredible. 2. Joe Satriani on the Flying in a Blue Dream tour 3.UFO on the Walk On Water tour - Schenker was so on it was unbelievable. In a small club and I was directly in front of his amps - that was probably my favorite.
