Where exactly is the iso transformer routed in your rig? Before the amp input? First thing in the effects loop? Last thing in the loop?

But the loop is for the Splawn and that thing is dead quiet no matter what. The Dual on the other hand is a tad noisy but I think they all are.

So a ground loop is most likely occuring regardless of your loop's quality.

The quality (noise level) of an FX loop is just going to exacerbate a ground loop that may have been previously imperceptible.
