Haven't tried one yet, but it looks interesting.

Monte Allums OD-308
My Boss SD-1 was modded by Monte Allum.
It sounds great but you know guitarists.......
always TONE CHASING!! :D
If that Dano works for me, I will be selling my Monte SD-1.
Drop me a line if interested.

I already have a Monte Allums SD-1 808/GT mod
Nice.........
They are SWEET arent they???
Yes they are.

Grabbed a Crowther Hotcake last week and gigged with it last nite - superb od pedal, will stay on my small but useful pedal board. Played some Metallica with it in a Fender De Ville combo (believe it or not!), remarkable clarity in notes, even at higher gain settings. Will cover a lot of ground and makes a great companion to my OCD. Will not do the Mesa Boogie Rectifier thing but still gets aggressive and stays CLEAR. Clears nicely when rolling down the guitar's volume knob.

Gotta love the OD threads. Everyone posts their favorite of the month and no one cares to ask what amp the person is using or how they are going to use it (Boost or overdrive into clean amp). I only bring this up, cause when I was looking, I would get 50 recommendations and it was horrible trying to figure out what worked well for what.

Glad the Danelectros are working out, there was a big thread on the transparent overdrive the TGP, many people were not happy with Danelectro cloning the Timmy....

BB preamps work amazing with Mesa's which is why i love mine, I use the gain all the way off and volume at 3/4 adds a slight amoun of gain but amount of thickness alot i slighlty roll of the treble and add a little bass which calls for amazing tone since i dont like using all that much preamp gain i only use 3.5 out of 10 on my mark IV.

I just got in my Danelectro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive today. I was using a Modded SD-1 and it sounded great.
This new pedal walks all over it. No bass or mid cuts when on. It makes the overall tone FULLER. Now I run it in front of my Randall RM100 that I upgraded the transformer and all my modules are heavily moddified. Play mostly metal/hard rock. This pedal puts the tone in another league when kicked on. Guess its supposed to be a TIMMY clone. All I know it that it RIPS!
And for $40.00 you cant go wrong.

Im a believer too! But I just ordered a Timmy about 3 hours ago. I figured if this cheap clone rocks, the original should be a monster. BTW, talked to Paul C on the phone today...hell of a great guy.
