:banhim:

that sounds like a LIE/SCAM !!!

I thought the UPS store printed out there own labels

Every time I went there looked like they printed the label.

Does he work for the UPS??? might want to check that out.

#2 the UPS store is a rip off big time. They want $120 to ship a guitar. You have to go to the UPS hub as you requested!!!

You need to let us know his "User Identity" so the rest of us don't buy anything from him because it sounds like a UPS employee scam!!

Hi Carl!

to OP:
Oversize / Over dimensional weight charges may also apply to ground shipments, I would get a quote from UPS based on the exact shipment Ground for an accurate loss figure.

A 2x12 shipped in a carton 38x37x27...? Talk about overkill.....Ferrcrisssakes, no wonder UPS rated it at nearly 200#'s.... because that's what their 'books' tell them that carton that size "should" weigh...even though it obviously weighed much less.

Be advised everyone....actual weight, and, dimensional [rated] weight are not always reflective of true end cost to the shipper. The bigger the carton the higher they rate the weight......These companies [both UPS & FEDEX] always "error" in their favor.

Hi Carl!

This is very true. Afew things Ive learned the hard way from using UPS for all my shipping at my job. We do A LOT of shipping every day...

1. Dimensional weight is very confusing and the formula for figuring it out is beyond what the everage joe is gonna take the time to do.

2.UPS doesnt use "stickers" anymore. As others have stated, its all done via computer based software thats pretty easy to use assuming your of average intelligence.

3.My software at work automatically defaults to NEXT DAY AIR on every package and you have to manually overide that on every transaction.

4.To me, this doesnt sound like a scam....just lack of caring.

I feel for you Brad. You got reemed on this deal for sure. Personally, I couldnt sleep at night if I knew I jacked somebody like this.

This guy is either the dumbest F$$k in the world or he's like 12 years old.

Hey Carla, did you have a nice 4th of July? How is it spending a Holiday all by yourself, at home, alone, with your thumb up your ass?

That Carl guy is a loser or what   I'm sure glad I don't live by that dummy!!!!

So, how long do we have to wait to know who to avoid dealing with?

He has PM'd me begging me not to name him while he tries to figure out what to do. I had offered to split the screw up with him and just take $200 but he didn't take me up on it or send a dime so as of now I am taking that off the table.

I told him there isn't much to figure out, send the $400 I had to pay for his bad decision.

He is reading every post in this thread and does not want to be called out, but he also doesn't want to make it right so I am running out of patience. I will give him one more day and then its over, I pay the $400 and make it my business to make sure everyone knows how he handled this.

I applaud you Brad. You are a much bigger man than I. My first post in this thread would have been something like...

"Beware of moron seller *link to classified post, name and username here*. Let idiot use my UPS account and sent item 2nd day, when I clearly specified ground. Cost me 400 extra shipping dollars. Coulda bought another of the same cab for the shipping costs. Buyers beware  ."

:D Jus' sayin'...

Brad here's the deal. I got the insight as to what probably happened after talking to the rep. They, the UPS Stores, don't make a dime on customers that ship on others account numbers and from what I was told their system, iship, doesn't accept third party account numbers or at the very least they don't use them because if there are any accesorial charges after the initial charge that happen in transit, they get billed to the UPS Store, not the Customers third party number.

So it makes sense that the UPS store person, who is usually the owner, told your guy he can't do it in his system and to use what they call an ASD or Air Shipping Document. Based on the tracking number, that is exactly what was used. I think your guy got duped big time because the UPS Stores wont do it, I got this from a great source and he's seen it a bunch of times before. He probably filled out the paper not understanding the repercussions and those UPS store owners could give a shit. He did say it would probabaly come down to a dispute with the store owner and not UPS. He could call his rep and work something out if you push him from what my guy said. I think the shipper is a little less of a rat initially then I thought but should help make it right.

Actually, this isn't correct either. The UPS Store receives $1.00 credit for every package that the UPS Driver picks up from them that they didn't process. This includes ARS packages as well.

They can simply scan the package with the label that they print out and receive credit that way. They should have never suggested an ASD. That assures that the package is going air which anyone in their right mind will know is going to cost a LOT more than a ground package of like size and weight.

They should have handed him a WayBill, that would allow them to ship the package without even scanning it into their system other than for the $1.00 credit that they receive from UPS.

The guy simply didn't care enough to stop Brad from getting ripped off.
